The data does not support that. The sole boutique bass was the Skjold played by the guy from Hozier and he struck me as a hired gun/side man.

I'd be curious to see if these same bands would use the same instruments if it were just them in concert. With festivals, you have a lot of people on and around the stage, so maybe they just brought the "I don't care if it gets broken" basses (with the exception of the Celinder and Skjold, of course). Also, what instruments did they use in the studio?

@MonetBass I would doubt there is any difference between festival and concert. This isn't a battle of the bands where they are sharing a backline.

If I remember correctly, it was a black P-bass according to the 2015 Rock on the Range festival. The idea to record my observations came on the 3rd day so the conclusion might be slightly skewed.
