The Big TB Sound Sample Thread

The soundclip isn't great for playing quality, but you get the idea.
Is anyones interested, the samples were recorded using the MXR's DI straight into the PC sound card. Then edited using Soundforge.
When I get myself sorted out I'll do some samples of the DOD Grunge and Boss DS-1.

Clean channel is always:
Bass: 1
Mid: 3
High: 1

0:00 - 0:30 -
Dirty:
Vol: 1
Blend: 9
Gain: 9

0:31 - 0:50 - N/A is just clean

0:54 - 1:08 -
Dirty:
Vol: 9
Blend: Max
Gain: Max

1:09 - END -
Dirty:
Vol: 1
Blend: 9
Gain: Full

Hope that helps.

Are these o'clock settings? There's lots of distortion cutting with the blend set at 9 on the last sample.

Changed original post, yes sample settings are in o' clock.

The key to that sample is the distortion volume, which is why theres not much dialled in on the blend but still sounds quite distortiony (not a word but hey).
Hopefully that makes sense.

These free filesharing websites are driving me daft. If anyone is stuck for hosting or just fancies giving them a miss then send your mp3s to 'troggeth @ g m a i l . c o m' and I'll put them on my webspace so you can link directly.

How much web space have you got and bandwidth because I can send you all of mine and it's a hell of alot of samples.

Cheers

this be the plastic pedal roundup...

first, two behringer pedals...man, these things are CHEAP...all plastic and you have to take off the stompy part to change the battery...but they sound and work okay

UP100 phase shifta

BLE100 limiter...it works pretty well actually, i mainly wanted it so i could mix fingerstyle with slappy poppy

and i could not resist the danelectro flanger, also a cheapie, but is very flexible and sounds better than i expected (since it is a g**tar pedal)

and last but not least, the cool (and expensive) one, the dunlop MXR-188 auto Q envelope filter thingy...i can spend hours sitting here making weird noises...good stuff...gets even better when i chain em all together, put peanut butter on my strings and let the cat lick it off...now that is art

heres a pic of all of em, settings shown are the ones used in the samples, so you can steal my sweet tone (and madd tite chops)

I know all of you hate rapidshare, but I'm too damn stubborn (and possibly lazy ;) ) to use anything else. Anyway, I put all the different pedal settings together under 4 files, 1 for each type of play style. For each the tone on my passive bass is left open (the bass is tuned BEAD).

Tracks:

Order of settings in tracks:
Code:
Plain Bass
1/2 Gain, Tone 7 o'clock
1/2 Gain, Tone 12 o'clock
1/2 Gain, Tone 5 o'clock
1/2 Gain, Clean 12 o'clock
Full Gain, Tone 7 o'clock
Full Gain, Tone 12 o'clock
Full Gain, Tone 5 o'clock
Full Gain, Clean 12 o'clock

On the "Tone X o'clock" ones the clean knob is at 7 o'clock (full effect), and on the "Clean X o'clock" ones the tone is at 12 o'clock. For the "Plain Bass" Clean is at full, so gain and tone do nothing. Also keep in mind that these are direct recordings and will sound different through different systems (amps, etc.). Oh and my P-PU is raised quite a bit for maximum carnage ;)

Enjoy! :D :bassist:

Here is something I recorded yesterday with my Boss BR864 using the MXR M80. There are two tracks of bass one recorded with the distortion channel and one with the clean channel. I was kind of going for a FNM Billy Gould kind of thing(Wish I had a keyboard to put something on top of it)

Sounds very good! However your stereo/panning isn't that good imo, it's too left/right-split, you know? (Listen to it with headphones)

some samples from my Behringer BDI21 and an EKO MM300 (cheap but nice sounding MM copy)

BEHRINGER BDI21 E EKO MM:

settings on all samples:
BASS : 12
TREBLE: 12
BLEND: MAX
PRESENCE: 12/13

Sorry for being lazy but the search function turned up no results and I don't feel like rummaging through the pages.

Has/can someone post a clip of the Digitech Bad Monkey and the DOD 250? The first DOD clips won't work.

Sorry for being lazy myself but I don't feel like telling you.

Here's a hint though go up 10 posts inclusive of this one
