The Big TB Sound Sample Thread

Here is a Link Removed. I just repeated a minimalist pattern over and over while tweaking the "sustain" and "tone" knobs. It starts off bypassed, then I gradually move the sustain knob from 0% to 100% (tone knob at midpoint). Then I started messing with the tone knob, and then adjusting the sustain back down, and a few random settings.

English Muff'n w/ 12AX7 Mod:

Precision PU (neck): Invalid Link Removed
Jazz PU (bridge): Invalid Link Removed

The files are "layered" like so:
Code:
P-PU/J-PU - Clean
            Half Gain - EQ Flat
                        Treble Boost
                        Mid Boost
                        Both Boosted
            Full Gain - EQ Flat
                        Treble Boost
                        Mid Boost
                        Both Boosted
Each scale run (up then down) is played first with a pick and then with fingers. The tone knob is left fully open for all examples. Pick is played near the bridge and fingers are played over the neck PU. I also used my Punch Factory (set to 10!) to compress.

Enjoy! :D

Thanks for this one. I was gassing for this pedal. Now I know I don't need it. ;-)
Good sample though...

bad quality, but.. :hmm: it's the first time I've recorded anything. so excuse the quality
I love my Tube Zipper.
Not really a filter for funky kinda things. as you can hear in the sample, there's always a small amount of distortion.
It does suck low end, but not that much, so it's ok.
blend it with the clean singnal and perfect (this is also what I will be doing)
But it's perfect for what I need it. :)

Here is something I recorded yesterday with my Boss BR864 using the MXR M80. There are two tracks of bass one recorded with the distortion channel and one with the clean channel. I was kind of going for a FNM Billy Gould kind of thing(Wish I had a keyboard to put something on top of it)

Sounds very good.

You say you recorded 2 channels, 1 from the clean channel and 1 from the distortion channel. I'd like to hear what that would sound like with just 1 channel, and using the blend control to mix the clean and distorted channels.

For this sample the following effects where ON in my FX chain:
NS-2, English Muff'n (w/ 12AX7s), Sparkle Drive (for 2nd 1/2 of each sample), and Punch Factory. The Bass was tuned AEAD.

Timeline:
Code:
0:01 - 0:22 = Coal Chamber Style Fuzz
0:23 - 0:51 = Coal Chamber Fuzz -> OD
0:53 - 1:15 = Tool Style Fuzz
1:17 - 1:43 = Tool Fuzz -> OD
1:44 - 2:06 = RATM Style Fuzz
2:07 - 2:27 = RATM Fuzz -> OD

The Coal Chamber riff is played only on the lo-A, the Tool riff on the A+D, and the RATM riff on the EA and D strings

Settings:
Code:
NS-2 - Treshold = Max
          Decay = 12 o'clock

English Muff'n -   Gain = Max
                    Low = 12 o'clock
                    Mid = 9 o'clock
                   High = Max
                 Volume = 10 o'clock (unity)

Sparkle Drive - Gain = Max
                  Tone = 9 o'clock
                 Clean = 11 o'clock
                Volume = 10 o'clock

Punch Factory -  Drive = #10
                Volume = #4.5 (unity)

Ok I finally got round to doing some samples of a DS-1, a FZ-2 and a HM-2.
Recorded using my amps DI, playing with a pick, bass tuned to standard EADG. Playings abit shonky as usual but hopefully you guys get the idea. Enjoy.

EDIT: hopefully next week i'll get some samples done of the modulation pedals i've got, Phasers, Choruses, Flangers and maybe some Tremolo action.
I'll also do some different settings for the FZ-2, because I really like the sounds i'm getting out of it and i've not seen one round here before.

Rig (NS-2 Loop = italics): CT-04 Tuner -> NS-2 -> English Muff'n -> Dime CFH Wah -> Sparkle Drive -> Punch Factory -> SansAmp PDDI -> CEB-3 -> RV-5

Recorded direct from the RV-5. I've decided that I want to use the PDDI as a mid booster, and I'm gonna use the DD-6 when I get it as a looper type thing, so putting the PDDI before the CEB just made sense. And I recorded it (really didn't need to). And I've posted it here (again, really didn't need to). I almost pity myself :bawl:

It's just lame noodling, I just got the thing and just hit record while playing with knobs to get a feel for what kinda tones it gets...

It's an 8mb 5 minute long file, my server likes to stream just the first few seconds... holding F4 while clicking reload usually gets the rest. Or you could right-click and save as.
