The BIGGEST douche move onstage is...

3t5wri.jpg

The worst for me is hearing a singer/band scream expletives onstage in order to sound edgy..

They are saying, "I have no identifiable talent, therefore in place of knowing what arpeggio means I'll blurt out some salty language instead"

Music stands?.. = I'm making good money for this gig & there's a wide range of music I need to nail straight on..

Hawaiian shirts?.. all the time!! :D

Oh my god thisx1000

"DO YOU WANT TO HEAR MORE F---ING MUSIC?"

No I came to a show to play scrabble you moron..

From the long coat thread...........

"What's really douchey is all these threads lately worrying about what other people are doing:
Going shirtless
Wearing sunglasses
Using music stands
Playing reliced basses"

I am totally going to do all this and wear a long coat and rock the fake Brit accent next show. Douche-o-meter pegged!

Using german words like "kaputt" and "schlepp" is a bit douchy, too. But yeah, I was laughing about a pic online that had "This is a Schlachtschiff, it schlachts Schiff" written on it... makes you wonder where that words originally came from :D

Edit: I live in a city called "Siegburg", oh dear...

Slight derail: You're in Germany, so I probably shouldn't doubt you, but isn't "schlepp" Yiddish and not German?

Dosen't look cool at all.

Agreed.

Playing in the metal scene it's all around me unfortunately. I've walked out on more than one audition before because the band said "You definitely play well, but lower your bass. You look stupid".

Nope, can't do it. Lowering your instrument to look cool tells me you are about the image, not the music.

I should burst a bubble here - there is no English accent, let alone a British accent. Like there's no American accent.

There are many.

totaly true. i think the two accents that are being spoken about here are the toofs accent ie prince charles etc and the cockney ie stevie marriot. at a pinch i guess older folks( thats me) would include scouse( the liverpool accent).keef used to talk wiv a sarf london accent but not any more. weird
ps personaly i love the bronx accent

What about doing covers where the original had a strong accent? If you're from Iowa, do you sing Texas country with your native Iowa accent? If you're from London and your audience requests Goldie Lookin Chain's "Your Missus Is A Nutter", should you do a Welsh accent so it sounds right?

Agreed.

Image and beer sales are all that matter. Practice for years? Master your instrument? Know all the songs inside an out?

Dosen't matter.
Look cool and sell beer. Get booked again.
