Took awhile to get all of the cabs on-hand + an out of state funeral.

I've been specifically avoiding giving any impressions before posting the samples, but I'd be happy to respond via PM if you're interested in hearing them beforehand.

Friendly word of caution: Talkbass will burn up as much of your time as you let it!

Now if you were able to revise your tests with the same ram air effect (same manifold air pressure at the same RPM and load), do you think your model would have given different, perhaps more encouraging results?

Absolutely and I was aware of the missing data. However our budget did not allow for the equipment to supply and measure an accelerating/decelerating airflow from 20-280km/hr, and at what point does the inflowing air stop filling that air box and start spilling out around the front of the fairing.
I spent some good time thinking about that and formulating a fuel map that could take adavantage if it. But I had to use my noggin and not the computers.

I am on a similar cab hunt as MD... And have been.. Genzler just came out with a new 410 Line Array cab.. Should be at NAMM
Looking forward to hearing the BB2

The genzlers will cut through the mix. They have a beautiful mid-range and have a very full well-rounded tone

That’s almost in BF Four10 category. That’s pretty darn good.

Especially considering the extra bits in it.

Yup I have the Four10 with a steel grille, 53 lbs. I really like the looks of the Genzler

4 corner ports... and the line array addresses the beaming problem inherent in 410 cabs and allow a lower crossover allowing the woofers to woof while the array gives vocals mids and smooth highs.
I “heard” it as much as one can today at NAMM. I was impressed

That is a great cab. We had a fun time playing through it and comparing it to a pair of BA210-3's and a pair of BA12-3's (one of them was an SLT). Different players through the same bass sounded very different through all of them (as you would expect) and there was no clear favorite Genzler rig. All of them were very compelling. The BA410-3 had the most low-mid presnece and was a little darker, and the two BA210-3's were more clear than the 410. The BA12-3's are perhaps the most balanced, and also very articulate. It's a great time to be a bass player!
