Well, howdy and welcome, Mikie! That's a couple of very nice bass combo amps ya got there! Just curious, do you gig 'em or are they just for practice?

Say, why don't you join up with us? We're a fun-lovin' bunch of bassists that also love our combos. We have a Fearless Leader here who hands out the membership numbers once you show a pic and then accept the invitation to join. So, you're already halfway there!

I just jam at the house. I'm not playing gigs or anything like that. Not good enough to make a bunch of money at it and dont have the patience for playing bars anymore. Love it more than ever
And I would be happy to join the group.

Great, Mike! You've done everything right to join. Fearless Leader will be along sometime soon to bestow your membership number on you. Please be patient. He's a very busy mild mannered school teacher on weekdays, but he becomes the mighty "His Excellency" on late nights and weekends! ;)

Meanwhile, you can check out your Combo Club Wiki page to learn more than you might care to know about what you're getting into. And take a tour of your Combo Club Clubhouse too. Then read there about your Combo Club Communicator Badge I'm putting in the mail to you.

I tried the amp for bass out of curiosity, as it is too loud and clean by itself for electric guitar without some effects in front of it and no master volume. I was pleasantly surprised at the bass tone it has, reminds me of how the old bandmaster and bassman heads sounded that we used in the sixties.
I got it for free and the speakers were kicked in so I put some Eminence Legends in it. Someone had spilled ice cream into it. Futara fixed it and I made a new grill cloth and frame saving the A badge.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use it against a couple of 25 watt 1/12 guitar amps and a reasonable drummer such as at the small church we attended recently.
Really don’t have to give me a number if you don’t want to. The B15 club is a much friendlier place anyway.
Sorry for troubling you all.
Respectfully Yours, JF.

Johnny, I'll take the blame for the less-than-friendly atmosphere during your first fly-by, but I respect you enough to wish you a happy life and a fond farewell. Should you decide to stop by again, I know we'll be more accomodating. A regular bass combo amp wouldn't hurt either! That said, our poll indicated that, yes, we would lovingly accept you into our realm with your Ampeg guitar amp, even 1/12 of it. Think about it and if you'd like to join at some point all you need to do is request a number and I'll sign ya up. Thanks!

Dear FL @iagtrplyr - wouldn't it be a nice compliment, some here in TB would speak about a lifetime achievement, for you turning the page to 1111 ?!!
There's holidays coming up with ample time for everyone playing their combos and writing on the Club pages.

BB, don't let anyone ever tell you that people living in Brussels don't have huge hearts...it's not true! Thank you, kind sir, that was very nice of you to say. Honestly, there are clubs, like the Fender Rumble club, who have a gazillion more hits than our wee group. I'm just happy knowing we took a club that could've easily died by the wayside and brought it back to being an important entity here at TB. That's thanks enough for me.

Even though it's late here, my FL phone rang that there was ensuing chaos here at the club so
I thought I'd stop by since my very busy school week kept me away from the site. Looks fairly normal overall, but with the possibility of a new addition, I'm glad I popped in. Thanks again!

Orange Crush 50 Glenn Hughes limited edition. Ummmm. Purple. Deep Purple. Hmmm. This might actually fill a niche. A combo as well. Yes Sir! 50W 12”. I wish it had an XLR out, but- Hey! Would be killer to mic this…or just use for practice etc. etc.
Darn GAS. I’m dropping a dime to my SW sales engineer.

Tele, if we lived next door to each other I have a feeling we'd get along quite well. I looked at that one too, but have decided I need something that'll offer more cleans. In fact, I am kicking around the idea of using my Terror Bass amp as a platform for a guitar rig. With its fairly clean channel and 250 watts, I think I'd have headroom to go along with a nice FX board. I currently have no guitar amp to speak of but plan on trying out my bass amps to see what might work while I save up for something proper. I've already tried out my Stage 800 with it dialed in correctly, it doesn't sound half bad, particularly the Dual Showman model. Louder than sin too.

Good seeing you again! I need to visit our Ampeg RB thread soon.

My new Hartke HD508 combo. Was looking for a loud combo and whittled it down to the Ampeg and Fender then the Hartke popped up and I took a chance. Great combo. Loud and ready to hit the stage.

outoftune, welcome to the club! Great choice in combos, I'd love to hear what that baby sounds like. Early reports were that it had way more bass than some thought it would. Thanks for stopping by, I'll ring you up shortly with a number since I know you have already requested one. Thank you again for dropping by to show your combo off. May you and it live a long and prosperous life together! :hyper:

Good choice with the Tele, they are very versatile.

Gretsch used to literally put a G brand on some of their guitars, like this 6120. I don’t recall ever seeing one on a drum shell, although they do have their big G logo everywhere.

Thanks, beans, I'll be dropping a pic of the Tele down in a minute. It's a Classic Vibe and I can tell even without a setup it'll be a sweetie. It resonates like no one's business and the neck feels like butta. In fact, my MIM P's neck could take a lesson from the lack of coleslaw shredding due to fret spurs that the CV completely lacks.

"Ooblik dee, ooblik da, life goes on, brah. La la how the life goes on"

Do you mean this horrible nightmare? Crazy thing, GP, that little bunch of first graders who I'm sure was given nightmares after my science lesson, are now my fourth graders who I teach daily. there are a couple of warped minds in that group, but overall they're a bunch of sweethearts!

Regret to read this. Normally we use better manners here. You caught us at our worst moments.

With or without a number, for me you are still welcome here, and I hope to see you here regularly.

+1. If the last week or so hasn't proven to the membership that we aren't a type of family who has its ups and downs like everyone else, then you haven't been paying enough attention. And, like with any other dysfunctional but loving family, we move on with life, stop the nit-picking (at least until the next time), and go back to enjoying each other's company.

Anyway, the holidays are coming and so I have to be on my best behavior from this point on or Santa isn't gonna pay me a visit on Christmas Eve. Maybe once we get to December we can each post our wish list of what musical items we'd like for 2021.

Me too, I wish it were a picture of my own. But for a thousand pages, I went for a professional image, right from Fender I think. Some sort of "advertisement". Here is my own loveable little TV combo at a gig last week... that's Alcatraz in the background through the windows.

Dats, that's a fantastic pic of your rig and the bay...really cool! This is making more sense too. Earlier tonight i received an urgent note that G'dog had gone paranoid and was being sent to Alcatraz. Ho ho, I think the writer got their posts mixed up a little. :smug: No one's banishing the Sarge at Arms to Alcatraz so put that out of your mind. I was thinking more Sing Sing since it sounds more musical...;)

Right on, thanks for asking...

It's a Warmoth roasted swamp ash body with a Warmoth maple and ebony neck..32". It's got Bartolini pickups now and what I think are nickel strings. It weighs about 7.5 lbs and is a joy to play for 4 hour gigs... I am a 32" convert.
Here is a clearer picture.

Beautiful and functional all at the same time. Congrats!

No use sucking up now, Roddy. :( I'm SO not in the running to succeed our glorious Fearless Leader. So, I cannot help you. And, after this ignominious electoral defeat, I'm a polytechical pariah here in Combo Club. Also, with FL's severe tongue lashing, I am liable to be excised from The Command Central CABINET of DIGNITARIES as Sargeant-At-Arms. Or [gasp!] worse! I could be turned over to my own evil henchmen, who I commanded with an iron fist, in Fearless Leader's Secret Polizei (shhh, don't tell nobodies).

Hoo, boy. :crying:
.

Polytechnical pariah...nah. Polytechnical paranoia...could be. Take two iron fists and call Doc intrepid in the morning.
