Why did it get removed? What is objectionable about bass practice?

Actually I think it was the way I had the settings. I had it as only those I share link with but now I’ve put it as unlisted and changed the title. Again I’ll take it down today at some point. Is not really meant to be seen. Just did it as a one take first take example of what we were talking about. Observing yourself playing will be a new tool in my box. These new fangled contraptions can be awesome sometimes lol. Maybe it was objecting to my playing or technique lol.

I was actually recording myself because of the discussion on technique ... ... What was cool was that, for me anyway, I got that adrenaline rush you get being on stage. I had not felt that in a while. I always loved that feeling. I’ve always loved the stage. And it’s weird because it’s you and ... and there it is. Adrenaline. Not sure why but it’s cool. ... It’s good to practice playing with that adrenaline flowing. To practice staying within yourself. ... ... ...

+1 about the adrenaline rush. It’s what keeps me going. Noodling around at home is fine, but when your playing is on the line because of an audience, then it’s a whole other level, and it’s one I feel I do better at. ... ... ...

I've always called it "butterflies in my stomach." From playing in front of an audience back in the '60s, all the way up until today. At first back then, I thought it was fear, like riding a huge creaky wooden roller coaster! But, a couple years ago, when my protegé said he was beginning to get over his "jitters" of playing in front of people, I told him, "No! Don't do that! That's the musical mojo you need to play well and creatively!" As we talked more, he began to understand.

Yeah, adrenaline is pro'lly the right technical term. But, people understand "butterflies" more easily. I prefer to call it mojo! Hey, where do you think those cherished vintage instruments got it from?

As I leave you this early morning, the first of five glorious days on vacation, I'm attaching a couple of pics of my latest instrument to show up on my door. It weighs less than the gigbag it came in, but actually has a really deep bass thump, and isn't that really all that matters? This, a Christmas gift from the Rev (so I can add percussion to our recordings) should serve its purpose here in the music room studio and my holiday gymnasium gig in another month. Dang, I love this music thang!

That’s interesting @Miles_ONeal so then why are there thousands of Beatles lessons videos on bass on YouTube? I tried to have the music way down low in the background and keep the bass prominent out of respect for someone’s copywrite I get that. Musicians have been ripped off enough. But that seems harmless. But they did not pull it down it was just my settings were wrong for it.

Why, Yes! @Cracker7 ! I’ve preordered the Orange Crush Bass 50. Excited for some filth- it’s not really my “usual sound”. But I like Orange guitar amps, so for the Spacebucks the Crush 50 will set me back, I think the 12” speaker and interactive gain and “blend” bi-amp circuitry will fill a gap that my Ampeg RB-115, and Fender Rumble 40 leave. Should be Fun- I’m getting the Deep Purple one

Will handle small gigs, and medium ones with PA/FOH support.

Finger kung fu is exactly the technique I practice. It's bass martial arts.

I have a problem with my thumb being "flat" against the back of the neck. When I was younger, it was not a problem, but age is convincing me that I need to get some sort of arch in my thumb.

I used to play tennis religiously and I can say that people sometimes get more focused on the aesthetics of their form rather than the result.
