I registered for Fuse a few years ago when my quest for a budget floor processor/modeler for bass that didn’t sound dark and/or muddy led me to Mustang Floor.

I’ve often found that in the modeling world, I prefer many of the guitar amp voices after reducing the gain until clean (and often defeating the speaker sim if a bass cab is involved).

I didn’t find much I could use on Fuse that I hadn’t already stumbled onto in my usual exploratory early examination.
It offers a nice patch edit/organization platform.

The current Rumble-compatible app is pretty useful for me. Tone is usable in performance situations to quickly scroll through patches and execute precise quick ‘amp’ changes wirelessly and even remotely with my smartphone.
I can edit patches fully on the Tone app from my table during a break e.g.

Actually, it was my piggyback Bassman(dunno the weight)into my Datsun 610 wagon. My 'bitter half' had the van. Datsun was manual tranny.

Ha! Haven't heard of a Datsun 510 in a long time. It's burned into my memory, as it was my mom's firts car when it was just the two of us.

Yeah know a few who drove that Datsun then and it is an impressive car for what it is. My ride circa 72 was a VW 412 and it probably could have fit that cab easily. In 1972 I was playing saxophone and likely more worried about hauling my skis. It is the early outdoors-y era and we hike in, climb up and ski down in the springtime. The mountain stuff remains only in that I find it necessary for my being to live near both mountains and water. Rock climbing and stuff like dat dere, for me, belongs in 1972.

As does my VW 412. It's the 2019 VW Scirocco that has my eye and absolutely I can fit my entire rig and bass in there nae problemo.

Prolly can fit a couple dalmations in my new Scirocco too, hey?

Way back at post#244 I shared my rig at the time, a GK MB212-II/MBP212 stack.
Had to part with it a while ago, and was trying to be content with playing through mixers with headphones, but not having an actual amp was just plain bugging me.
This time I went more practical, as I never really had a need for the 1,000watt sonic demolition tool that my previous rig was.
So, alright, a 200watt 112 should be sensible, right.
Good lord. Simply was not prepared for what this little beast is capable of!
AND it sounds great, clear, punchy.
Happy....so happy.

Never get tired of reading about someone being happy with their rig decision and purchase. A "Lived Happily Ever After" story if I ever saw one. Good for you, Spec!

Two gigs this weekend(yay!). 1)Elks Club Christmas party booked 3 months ago. 2) Sunday afternoon Golf course restaurant/bar gig that I got yesterday. Subbing for bass player w/ some people I don't know. Standards and light jazz. Oughta be fun.

.... my Bass Clef Real Book 2nd edition isn't so handy and thinking of the current edition because I feel it's something I should be working on. A gig is a gig and

and discovered for the first time in my life that I can actually play reasonably well with a pick (with some practice). Thinking how I can get out to play ....

Had practice last night. Our band of middle-aged dudes are getting better each practice. We can like play out soon. I'm also getting great tone out of my Vox-Peavey hybrid. I haven't used the external speakers yet. One is coming for Xmas, and I may exert some self-control and leave it under the tree for the big day. If my 3 year old has to wait so too should I. Must lead by example!

@Morrighan i had some success getting bass gigs by finding and participating in a local Open Mic night at a restaurant.
I just showed up with a bass and small amp and offered to play behind anyone who liked.

It turned into kind of a shooting gallery as eventually I was playing behind most of the singer/acoustic guitarists even when I was unfamiliar with the songs just because it made their offering more complete.

This has led to two gigging spin-off projects and gigs I’ve had to turn down because of my wife’s health.

The one caveat is I’ve had to pick up songs on-the-fly at open mic.

I read up and watched demos on those. Seriously considered it but neither of the GC's near me had one and I wanted to try it with my #1 bass b4 laying out the $. I know I could return it if I didn't like it, but that's another 80 mile round trip I didn't wanna make. So I got my R40 instead. Maybe someday on the Vox. I did chat with Vox about using the MV50 head with my R112 cab but that kinda defeats the purpose of getting lighter, easier to move gear.

One of the problems we have is that there's usually only one bassist per gig. For example, I play/sit in with 3 different big bands. Each time I get there I know about 1/2 the horn players from other bands. Bass players rarely meet each other to be able to make or get referrals. The gig I have Sunday came about b/c their regular bassist is one of the guitarists in the classic rock band I'm in. He's on a trip out west and recommended me to the leader/pianist in this 'jazz' group.
