I've read through this thread and an varying opinions over time. Do B-15s count as a combo? (I do wheel mine and carry it with the head folded in)... I have a b-15r and also have one of the super rare ampeg b-15e extension cabs (only 97 were made) View attachment 4524182 View attachment 4524182

It was "determined" that B-15's do not qualify as a combo, some time ago. I, for one, think they should but it is not up to me. In any event, congrats on your collection. You are fortunate to have that much history in your possession .

Axially, the still currently reigning Fearless Leader (for a few more hours) originally declared the Ampeg B-15 does qualify as combo due its uniqueness and he likes them.

But scurrilous dissidents stirred up dissension against Most Worthy Fearless Leader and he generously called Referendum to settle the qwexxion. And, after many a bloody and dastardly skirmish, Most Benevolent Fearless Leader announced New Decree confirming his original Special Dispensation allowing Ampeg B-15 to qualify for Combo Club Membership! So let it be written in your Combo Club Cyclopædia, so let it be done! All hail, FL!

For course, it remains to be seen what new FL2 has to say. ... ...​

So here is something else to think about for the B-15s - often times, in an orginal pair the serial number of the cab and head (wait for it)..... MATCH! They are indeed one unit, and not sold separately.

My first decree (unofficial until ratified at exactly 2022/01/01:00:00:00.001CST) is that the Official Combosity of the Ampeg B15 remains in place. As Fearless leader and Supreme Courtier, I will stand fast on precedent[1] wherever reasonable and convenient[2]. This case is both.

[1] Not on my predecessor. That would be rude.
[2] Except when I don't.
