Seeing how this was about 38 years ago,i think the bass i was using at the time was an all-black Modulus Basstar. A Fireglo Rick would’ve really stood out with that, too.^ a blazer in need of a sonic blue Fender.

Things are winding down for me a little now. In college our terms are shorter, and I just passed the halfway for my term papers. That's a bigger lift for than final exams because I write copious comments.
Christmas holiday is coming! It's that much better with a 3 year old around.
I find the 7ender Studio interesting from a technical pov, but I have no need for all the efx for what I do/will do. I've expended all my GAS for the foreseeable future - I think. (therefore I am)
I don't care if he's technically not a numbered CC member but, @Killed_by_Death has GOT to be in the CCVC, officially or not! He got me interested in the VX50BA enough to take a chance in the first place, then to stay with it when it didn't sound so good right out of the box. His collaboration and encouragement in exploring this nu technology was invaluable to me and I'm very grateful to him for that.
Likely in
but need to build my pedalboard first. In theory tuner -> HPF -> (maybe compressor) -> VT Bass Deluxe that has the DI so I can go ampless should the need arise.
Spoke with the folks at the local music coop and back again Saturday for open house. My copy of Arianne Cap's Music Theory for the Bass Player arrived and already working it. Making no assumptions about anything I am certain I know.

I separated the Markbass and Mesamark combos to either side of the drumkit.(they’re easy to miss, but mostly are in this pic).
Sounded great on stage, but the room was quite large, so i had to go for reinforcement through the mains. (JBL 215 plus horn cabs).
I was lazy,so I didn’t bring my efx for this 2 1/2 hour show. Just equal bass tone for both amps.
LOVE the VT DI pedal.

Yeah the compressor is likely unnecessary as @Kro points out in this thread

the signal out of the VT Bass is compressed.*
+1 for the vt di. I don’t typically use compression, but the vt does have a subtle version of it that i like the sound of. I seldom do bass solo’s,but i do like to color my tonal world differently for certain songs or passages. The octave pedal sounds fab with upper level runs on a fretless.(learnt that from Tony Levin on sledgehammer). I also have fuzz, envelope follower, delays, reverb, flangers, but really don’t utilize them as much as i would like.Hey yoooze guys!

the signal out of the VT Bass is compressed. Not all squishy-like compression to my ear and my hearing is not my long suit anyway. Assuming the smallest board I can find
(these battery powered boards like the Outlaw look really tasty ... 10 hours play time on a charge, one less thing to plug in)
would have room for a "fun" pedal like a chorus or octave. The VT Bass Deluxe I use has an effects loop so that is really handy.
An octave or a chorus strikes me as just the sort of thing if ever called to "solo". And everyone knows bass solos are :: yawn :: Typically a "solo" is like a bar or two. Happens sometimes in jazz. Weirdos. I'll be needing a gown for those gigs, will post pix when it's real!
*Based on drive. More drive = more compression. To my ears though, when pushed to just on the verge of breakup, it's still very useful when it comes to controlling transients and providing a more usable, consistent signal for recording.![]()
Shucks;thanks,Ya’ll.Okay, I've changed my mind about the homepage pic...let's go with this one instead!
When we go out with all four, I'll only do solos(a full chorus[not effect])during "dinner music"-bossa novas, standards, etc. When we're a trio, I might do more. The only effect I use is an EHX micro POG, and only when we're 3. I kick in the upper octave during guitar solos to fatten up the sound when there's no rhythm guitar. It makes it sound like a bass and guitar playing the same line.Hey yoooze guys!

I don't know about the rest of you, but if this club had to create a homepage for itself, this shot of Woody would be my nomination to grace what everyone sees upon clicking on. Love the elk in the back and the classic bass player performing to the audience in a killer monochrome look. Post a better pic if you have one! Thanks, woodyng2.

Of course, the other photo you could actually see the combo...might be more appropriate?Okay, I've changed my mind about the homepage pic...let's go with this one instead!
