I separated the Markbass and Mesamark combos to either side of the drumkit.(they’re easy to miss,but mostly are in this pic).
Sounded great on stage, but the room was quite large, so i had to go for reinforcement through the mains. (JBL 215 plus horn cabs).
I was lazy,so I didn’t bring my efx for this 2 1/2 hour show. Just equal bass tone for both amps.
LOVE the VT DI pedal.

Nope.
I Played the Rick,Roundwounds with a pick, for the first hour set. The coat came off after the 3rd song.
I played the GL, Flatwounds fingerstyle, for the 2nd set 1.5 hours.
They were quite different, but both sounded great,and I didn’t change the VT settings at all.
(Both amps are always run flat).
Rent? Tuxes?? Shoot, I've worn out my 5th or 6th one over the years.

And may I never see a short-sleeved tux. That needs to be on the same list as cargo shorts.
Stating with great assurance at 62 I ain't in Tina Turner attire on or off stage. Who actually says "apparel" in real life unless talking about finding something in the Yellow Pages?

Seems to me I read of someone who had a Hong Kong tailor make a short sleeve suit for a gentleman on R&R from further south. And stories flew about a reporter from a wire service who was recalled to the States circa 75 after a long-term assignment in Hong Kong. He requested and received relocation allowance for "personal effects and junk". The accounting department lost it when they were billed for moving a very large boat of a kind often seen in Hong Kong....
My current theoretical path is dropping as deeply into practically applied music theory on a bass (I know, weird, huh) with as many other people willing to play with me. And there is a great deal to be said for playing brunch music when the load-out means "home in time for dinner". While that doesn't strictly require a gown it's handy to have a few in any event. For orchestra it's a must but I may pass on orchestra. Still got some rock n' roll in this gal, that's what the StingRay is for ....
It may be back from Santa's workshop late this week and there's a set of DR Black Beauties waiting.

Happy to up my reading skills. And formal is the order of the day in orchestra ... sometimes .... you may find some passages in this familiar. Well, all of them are likely familiar.
My favorite P.D.Q. Bach....uh...composition? It takes guts(or whatever)to attempt that live-and pull it off! Brilliant performance and staging. Photobombs! I would hate to have been one of the wind players. It's hard to control pitch when you're laughing your tail off.
I’m not a “to hire” guy, just an occasional weekend warrior in a band. I certainly couldn’t step into any type of gig and sight read my way through music I hadn’t rehearsed. Being in a situation calling for a tux has been a one-time thing for me. (And I wasn’t particularly happy about it as it negated my pay).
If yer interested, you can get 'em cheap(er) at Goodwill, etc, or rental places after prom season-or NYE.

Elvis must have been a scandal for audiences used to seeing orchestras and big bands. Oh wait, he was a scandal. :: applause ::
Some of the ladies in the orchestra playing the 1712 Overture (okay I'm still cracking up, PDQ Bach always cracks me up) are in black slacks. Can't say I've had need of a black gown lately .... the sort of New Year's galas I attend are not known to be of interest to the hoity toity set.
Well shoot what we have here is a volunteer to step up and play, who can ask for better? Ya got me.

I did exactly that years ago,when i came across a baby blue sportcoat at a thrift store.
I thought it was VERY Bryan Ferry.
Of course,I wasn’t wearing it for a “real” formal occasion,just thought it was cool.
