The Combo Club

But, probably no VX50BA amps, I bet. "I tell ya they just don't get no respect*! Even from Vox dealers."
* From the previous name of this Club!

The Vox VX50BA is the first amp I looked for in the showroom. No dice. Crimminy. They're delighted to order one, I'm informed. But kind of in - if not amp nirvana now - then close.

I had the same thing happen to me near Atlanta...very nice store...no Vox amps
on the floor, but Victor will be happy to show you these pictures.
Maybe it’s a Vox distribution thing?

That's the answer I got from both GC's I'm between. Pay for it. If ya don't like it we'll refund you. No.:rollno:

And last I looked (a bit ago) there is a Fender "Hazy Purple" coil cable hanging just outside the guitar and bass showroom. So, so tempting. It's refreshing to go in a store and shop where woodwind players can select from reeds on display.

What all that means in (imagined) Real World terms is the shop is in good graces with the schools. Schools that still have an active music program.

Oh yeah what a great amp

(but) I have three amps now and two of them are combos. Considered taking one outside for a garage door cheesecake shot because Combo Club.
As aficionados of bass combo amps, we just have to come to the realization that spontaneous instances of GAS will often occur. Also, life is short - go for the gusto - forge on with no regrets! Act now - justify later!

Oh just DO IT! You know you want it! You deserve it! :D

Just watched a video that looks suspiciously like

and of course JB's secret weapon is a curly cable ;)
(certainly not his hat)

edit. seriously. who dressed these guys.

Thanks for the link - good stuff there! You still loving yours?

The li'l Vox still holds a very special place in my musical stable. But, TBH, since easing my lifting restriction a bit, my newer Fender Rumble Studio 40 is now "el numero uno." Twice the weight, bigger speaker, less wattage, infinitely more versatile.

6am arrival. 7:00 downbeat for a Cancer Walk. Done by 10am, home at 10:30. Just a little sleepy. Gonna just relax the rest of the day. Had a busy week.

Good weekend all!

Good weekend all!

Sounds like a perfect day to me. Playing music for a truly great cause. Imagine an entire week of rehearsing, jamming, listening to music, enjoying your bandmates’ company? I’m a countin’ the days...

Thanks everyone for keep the club interesting these past few days. It’s great not having to worry if the lights are still on and the bills are being paid.

I’m currently suffering from a yearly condition commonly known as M-A-Y. It actually begins after spring break and runs until you get the last kid gets on the bus at 3:15 on the final day. BTW, there are seven school days left.

A fun day last Friday with our spring field trip out at a nearby lake. Fishing, pond studies, and a nature hike all while a steady rain fell from the sky.

Then yesterday, our annual track ‘n field day where walk in the morning, followed by grade relays, and then in the afternoon six field events. Needless to say, the legs and feet were pretty tired last night. Great day though.

Today, back to class with a study of the brain and its workings. Tomorrow the Jazzer is coming out with me to rehearse for the talent show next week.

So there ya have it in all its glory. Slowly wrapping up assessments and a whole lot of correcting that goes with them. Put aside all the inservice days in June (about a week’s worth) plus curriculum writing, and summer vacation should begin sometime in July and then we’ll pick it up again in early August.

And this is why Ghost’s Sunday performance schedule sounded so darn good. Rock on, all you wonderful bass players!

Long live the Combo Club!
