Ok what's been happening while Ive been on my May short holiday. Everyone behaving? Looks like our Fearless Leader has shown up again after his May holiday loll
Hey FL I got another short holiday coming up mid july..we enjoyed our stay so much this time we are going back again in a month for another week lol..Its WINE country here in South Oz...a great place to get lost and spend a year away one day loll. Best wines in the world..our beautiful Barossa Valley red and white wines..me Im a red drinker..and boy did I see lots of it during this past week or so.
Ok any new members or any old members buying up more combo's?
How are all the regulars going...Morri, SR, GP, Jakob, Ghosty, Doggy etc etc etc..you lot behaving or spending up big loll
Just posted a pic in the Sterling by Music Man Sub forum as the OP was looking for members, so as I bought the bass for my lovely wife more than 2 years ago I thought I'd give them a posting in there too. Look at the pic I gave them...it also features my Rumble Combo lolll..what a shameless plug..lol

Here is a posting I just did in the Rumble club..thought you guys may find the info useful..it would still apply to Combo amps with internal speakers plus extension cabs.

Ive always travelled with my speakers down tom as it mimics the movement of the cone if driving over bumps on rough roads etc...the cone will move as it normally would when playing...if laid on its back the speaker inside the cab may jolt the cone backwards and cause a real issue in the cone gap damaging the driver...just the way ive been doing it for years on advise from a speaker manufacturer many many moons ago loll
EDIT. When carried in a band trailer or van we stack the boxes/cabs on their basses (bottoms, as you would at a gig) so this reasoning i mentioned above only applies when carrying your own cab in a car or vehicle with limited space and you can only lay the cabs down as in the boot (trunk) of a car for example.

Returned my Rumble 500 after 6 weeks and picked up an Ampeg BA115. I just couldn’t get along with the Rumble. Too thumpy and vintage sounding and made every bass I played sound the same. Just couldn’t get an aggressive, modern tone with articulate highs out of it. Just wish there were extension cabs for the BA series like there are with the Rumbles. Great tones though.

The tiltback design on the BA series makes them even more attractive for me. I could see perching the BA115 angled up on top of a Portaflex 15 cab ...
edit okay read the related thread .... no speaker out on the combo. Two BA115s sounds fun.

I found a Peavey Combo 300 awhile back, and found the enclosure smaller than I liked it, but liked the amplifier section. I had it serviced, then got it home and did a little re-mod. Just need to get the lower corner pieces on it, and some rubber feet...
It's the same width as the Crate cab it's sitting on here, which cab will be fitted with an Eminence Sigma 18.

Thanks! It's a tad more garage-y in person, but finishing the details will help that. I'll probably bring it to reggae gigs, those old school island players I jam with have a deep affinity for the old Peavey gear!

Yes sir - I can't agree more! My mother (90 yrs old) has just been put on hospice. Her entire life was dedicated to music - as an entertainer and later in life, she was an officer for the Atlanta Federation of Musicians. I've been truly blessed to have her in my life this long and can attribute her longevity to a life of beautiful music and laughter! Even now, as the family is coming together to comfort her in her final days, music and laughter are making it bearable for us all!
Yea. I may swap the 115 for a 210 since it has an extension out and then pick up a 1x15 cab

To believe what I read here at TB, the Scrambler adds some good dimension to the BA series. The BA108v2 here is too low on the model line totem pole for its own Scrambler. It's definitely a sweet amp, regardless and sees a lot more use than originally guessed.
Awwww SR..sorry to see you having to part with that lovely old Gibo semi. Beautiful looking bass. I had a Japanese copy of one of those back in the early 70's...couldnt remember what brand it was and being a young ignorant moron in my early 20's I packed the F clef sound holes full of cotton wool because it sounded too hollow and boomy through my old amp lolll..the things you do.
