I discovered the exact same thing! And feel the same wayIt's definitely a good amp, it just wasn't what I was looking for. I have to come to terms with the fact that I'm a Fender guy at heart
My 500c just covers all the bases (and basses) for me!

Have barely plugged into anything else than the BA108v2 Plus as the speaker settles in. And wholly confident the baby 'Peg can do the acoustic coffee shop deal and never break a sweat. What a neat little combo.
Oh for sure I can hear the difference between my own amps. And that's only encouraged me to expand my knowledge base! Foxy Voxy? [Gunther Toody]
Well, I guess it was inevitable. My newly aquired Blackstar Unity 60 is moving on. It's definitely a good amp, it just wasn't what I was looking for. I have to come to terms with the fact that I'm a Fender guy at heart, so today I went out and got a Rumble Studio 40. A trifle extravagant perhaps, but it's my birthday in 10 days, so I figured I'd treat myself. I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces, though that won't be for a few days yet, but I'll probably be able to squeeze in some noodling time before that.

Thanks, @iagtrplyr! I’ll post a review as soon as I’ve spent some quality time with it.Congratulations, JakobT! To be honest, I had a weird feeling about the Bstar and its long-term relationship with you. Your honest review sent obvious mixed signals and I’m sure you gave it a fair shake. It’s happened to all of us at one time or another. Best thing to do is move on and get ready to enjoy the numerous tones of your new Studio 40!
We’ll need another upfront report, but don’t hurry. Try as many of the models first before making judgments. Some need time to used to, like with any other modeler.
Again, congrats! Good decision made.
Pity you werent in all my bands with me from mid 70's to 2015 helping me load in and out my 122lb Peavey 1820 cab, let alone the Peavey MKIV head which weighed more than my Fender 500 Combo loll..but boy oh boy did it ever make up for the slog-in with the sound she put out..lolPlus, the tone we’re getting out of our present-day amps is quite good no matter what it’s compared to. I got into bass after the Peaveyizoic Era, and my only experience with overweight combos was my 90-lb Ampeg B-2, and the year or two I owned it was more than enough. Hoisting that up and over the tailgate wore me out!
Gimme my 40-lb Stage 800 and I’m a happy musician.
Thanks for your good wishes! The actual day is next Saturday. I probably won't be swinging by the club that day, as I'll be spending the weekend in Cologne, Germany.I go on a (half) week holiday and what happens..I nearly missed Jakob's darn birthday..HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUNG JAKOB SOON..WE CAME HOME EARLY SO AS NOT TO MISS IT..lol
ps. Oh FL and SR..I'm back tomorrow or Saturday from a very nice half week away at a Country Club Complex and with my dicky hip and clicky neck I never even played a round of golf, but saw a lot of birdies, had a cup of tee, so bunkered down in the pub, so I did sink a couple rounds..at the bar that is loll
Left you both a private musical message loll See you all in a few days if not tomorrow Members loll
As "promised": Ibanez AGB200/Bassman 25

That "snow" thing is a major part of why I've lived in FL my entire life-except for 4 years as a 'guest' of the Navy. My first experience with snow was being awakened at 2 AM in boot camp to shovel the stuff. At that moment I decided that snow was a Communist plot. Are you sure that this is a recent pic? I do not see snow.....
Oh, wait. You are in Florida.
Never mind.![]()
Thanks Giffro!Hey there EatS1st..great to see you join the club while I was enjoying a little break.

But I look forward to delving more deeply later on..
While am beink here, just am wonderink vhy head of Combo Club usink picture of amp stack for avatar? Is irony lost on everyone but me? Is veddy nice stack, but is stack, not combo, right? I mean, sure, is makink exception for heads hardwired to cabs and "callink" them combos for sentiments sake. But dis is not dat, am I right?
Don't gettink me wrong. Am not throwing rocks. I admit to enjoyink amp threads most, but my avatar is bass. What up wit dat? I dunno. I sometimes strive for inconsistency, maybe. Keeps life interestink.
And, of course, is no one more interestink than Fearless Leader! His example is beyond the ability to peck. Aw, hail Fearless One!
.
Well seen.
