Speak for yourself. I find my 'adjustable wrench' does a fine job of pounding nails. Especially if I'm too lazy to go get my screw driving hammer.:bag:

I kind of explained it in the next sentence of my post. Instead of having a port, there is large 'speaker' that doesn't have a driver behind it. On the Double Four it looks like it's almost the whole back if the cabinet When the driven speakers move air in the sealed cabinet, it causes the passive radiator to also push air, making sound. It's not as much as the driven speakers, but reviews I've seen for speakers with the tech talked about rounding out the sound.
This has been done in hifi speakers for a long time. Phil Jones said in a video he used to be a designer at Boston Acoustic, and he is now or was recently the lead designer at Edifier. I'm trusting that he knows how to make small boxes sing, so I bought a Double Four.

I agree that you explained it already, but I need very simple dummy-speak sometimes to understand. The explanation you have above here is great! NOW I get it! Thanks for indulging me. :thumbsup:

I'm not on here a lot these days, but set to do a gig w/ an Orange TB-500 combo tonight. I'll try to get some pics. Anyway, that said, I do enjoy the banter around here even when it's not related to combo amps. I get a lot of chuckles from it and that has value to me. And of course my heart and prayers do go out to the good folks down under.

I remember in the 70's(?), various speaker builders touting the 'passive radiator' thing. Seemed to work in hi-fi, no reason it shouldn't work for bass amps.

Thank you, the Kala Ubass is so much fun, I grew up around some very talented musicians and my favorite part about the Ubass is I took it back home because its so small and jammed with these guys I have always looked up to. All of them complemented the sound, most know Im a smart ass so they thought I was joking around at first. the sound once its amplified is great.

But mostly I will get in a lot of practice with it just watching the news or something, it like a toy and I can practice for an hour without even realizing it.

So a long winded way of saying your wife will enjoy it alot. :)

Appears to me the TE combos haven't hit the street yet? The 1x10 combo looks like it's exactly the TE 110 plus the Elf in one box, and runs the same coin as the separates.

A koala joey affectionately named Keli will be released back into the wild after he was rescued near death from the bushfires.

The Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie released images of Keli after he returned from the brink of death after coming in weighing just 275g.

'Just a brighter moment in all the tragedy in Australia at the moment we wanted to share something good,' the post read.
