A buddy of mine got pulled over for running a stop sign. He decided it would be smart to make small talk with the police officer so that the fine may be reduced. In Canada we obsess about the weather and it was a very hot day in a humid climate. So my buddy says to the officer: "Hot day. You must be sweating like a pig in that car ...". He got the maximum fine.

I gots to admit, since getting SiriusXM a few years ago, I gots no desire to listen to broadcast/commercial radio ever. My faves are LSUG, HairNation, Ozzy's Boneyard, the 40's/big band channel, and ESPN. Howzzat for eclectic?

A man who can enjoy HairNation and then click to 40s big band is a guy I can relate to. Probably most of us here by my estimate.

To be serious for a moment or 2[mark down the date and time], my dad played in a coupla local big bands in Miami in the 60's, so I was influenced by that. I played sax in big bands in H.S. and later as a part of the Navy music program. I've always enjoyed that big, full sax and brass sound-10 to 13 horns-plus 3 or 4 rhythm. But I also discovered 'rock' starting ~1957, much to my dad's chagrin.
I s'pose the oddest thing in my musical life is that, given a choice of music jobs that would all pay the same, I woulda played bass clarinet in a symphony orchestra.

Very cool, GP. Ya see, it sometimes takes a pandemic to find out the inner thoughts and feelings of those you know. Seriously, I think gigging in the orchestra would've been my choice too. World travel (if you were good enough), beautiful music to play, and a bond with a huge group of quality musicians. What's not to like?

In all honesty, I'da gone for the rocker, which I seriously thought about before going back to school. Something about newly-married, responsibilities, blah blah blah.
