It can be fun. IF everyone in the band can do it. Preferably together. But it's also unnecessary. And a large portion of the audience doesn't get it.

Not really sure how long I could listen to Alan Sherman again, actually. But I can listen to a lot of Tom Lehrer.
When we were doing our H.S. concerts, we did "Pollution" as a tongue-in-cheek 'tribute' to the school cafeteria. They were not amused.

I cannot say enough good things about Burl Ives! I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I've ever heard or seen him do. Nothing flashy, though Disney added their magic often enough, but always just very straightforward and entertaining. A true American treasure of music history.

First gig with the new rig:
You may recall I bought the CMD102P off to the left to make sure I had enough rig for these gigs. Turns out I didn't need half of what this rig's capable of, the PA was more than up to the task, but it still sounded great and is lighter than the 1x12 150W it replaced as my primary rig, so loadin/loadout was that much easier. This is officially a gig rig!

A time traveling bass player from the 60s might be at risk soiling himself hearing that much out of such a little combo! And a very good feeling to hear people are beginning to gig again. Looking pro!
I have been an avid lurker lately but quiet. We were just about to ‘audition’ a replacement guitarist when the Virus bagan closing things down. No band practices since early March. Lots of solo practice learning tabbed songs. our town is starting to allow reopening,BUT, the infection rates are just now ramping up. Many musicians are trying to get benefits together for our favorite places so no more go under. Mostly all-gringo type bars and restaurants, but we are all at risk due to age,etc. Great ideas for solo performing with plenty o distance and pretty much acoustic so the vocals are to be softer - no droplet dispersion...
Other than lurking and practicing, I am still finalizing my plans and parts list for a ‘Paul’ shaped maple solid body with a Warmoth roasted maple/fretless ebony necked bass. Size,shape, mass - 1-5/8” thick of quilted maple may be heavy.... At least we are staying healthy and have a great house to safely hang out in.
