The Combo Club

One of the things I like about the clubs here is the diversity of subjects within the framework of amp or bass ownership. If it was all dry and technical, I'd be bored beyond tears. BTW, most of our"Indian" named towns are easy enough to pronounce if you put the emphasis on the correct syllable. Kissimmee is Ki-SIMM-ee, not KISS-uh-me. That one gets mispronounced more than any other I know of, partly 'cause it's near Disney World so people see it on maps and road signs. Oh, yeah, there's one near Gainesville spelled Micanopy. It is NOT pronounced My-can-o-pee. Try Mick-uh-nope-y.:)
I totally agree with your assessment of this club too GP...as far as KissinYa..well I don't wanna upset Mike loll

Here is a little video of me and my Fender P + Stage 800 combo and some jazz. The setting is a tube preamp with a little more bass. My band director will surely love this sound once he hears it.

Excellent addition to the club archives, Devon, thanks so much for that piece. I'd agree with your band director too. I thought it had a distinctive tubey goodness to it. Okay, who put the kid up to convincing me to scrap my 100c monster rig and go with the 800? Doc? Duke? GP? 'Dog? No, it was Giffro...it had to be! Thanks to this conspiracy of you peoples, I'm going to re-think things and maybe find one available to audition.

Thanks again, Devon. BTW, the P looks and sounds classic!

Look Mike...Devon bought a Rumble Stage 800..now ya gotta set a good example for everyone else and also keep up with Devon..I'll help ya dig up that buried treasure. If money grew on trees here Mike I woulda become a darn tree surgeon years ago.
Cucamonga lolll..I think the last time I heard mention of that name was in a Bob Hope movie from the 50's lol If the PFfttt happens to get the sniffles and takes a ride to that Cuckoo-Mongo place I'll be waving goodbye besides the highway.."come back Rubber Ducky come back".
Naa Mike...if ya have the Stage 800 ya don't need the 40...this year.
Its great not to be under pressure aint it lolll

Love your philosophy. Write a book, sell a million copies, send me 8 bills, done! ;)

Great name for a town there @ghostinthemach...Cucamonga could almost be an Aussie town name..we have so many unusual names in this country..even my southern Aussie state that I live in..Wallaroo is a town I spend time at when I want to go fishing...Mallala if you wanna watch car racing...Nuriootpa if you wanna get lost in The Barossa Valley tasting wines for a month or 2..lol..lots of unusual names I would love to hear you guys trying to pronounce lol Coomandook, Warooka, Bungaree, Bumbunga, Booleroo, Willowie etc etc..then lots of normal names like Laura, Kadina, Balaklava, Moonta, Whyalla, Riverton, Clare, Berri...but hey...What's In A Name loll
Woww..talk about a lot of diverse subjects in the Combo Club besides chat about errr Combos...My fault methinks a lot of the time..lemme see..ok..here ya go..these may help make up for it.

And we've come full circle with a pic of the T-40. Beautiful family photos if I do say myself. Also, if I'd known the name of a town completely out of my randomized brain would've caused so much interest I'd have used Tightwad (found in Missouri) instead of Cucamonga. No telling the speculating that would've gone on with that one.

Once again, this post of GP's proves, much like Giffro's did a couple of spots up, that if you're a regular of the Combo Club you're bound to become smarter from just hanging around us. This page alone has been one of the most unique ones we've done yet, and there's still talk about cool combos. I love this stuff, but you are making me think I need to go set up my classroom with all this intellectual talk!

Has anyone here try the Tech 21 VT bass 200 combo ?

Need some opinion share.tq

Hey Yahboy, I'm gonna say no on behalf of everyone because I didn't think it was out yet. Am I wrong? I stand corrected, it is out and ready to ship according to MF. Can anyone offer any info? It looks like a cool piece of kit with a Sansamp built in and under 30 lbs.

Heading to the bass, folks, before bedtime. I've got three more tunes I wanna work over a bit before calling the last set done. The reverend arrived back in IA this evening and we're hitting our local Mom and Pop music store tomorrow afternoon for some final purchases. Ah, this is the life! I do plan on keeping up with ya'll beginning Wednesday night, with what I'm hoping are at least some images and maybe a recording of a tune. I've asked to get someone to at least record something or Mrs. iagtrplyr might think I've gone to Cucamonga for some wicked shenanigans! Okay, have at one of my fave words I use with my fifth graders...

Tech 21 VT Bass 200 - 200-watt 1x12" Bass Combo

From the user manual, tech 21 mention that could create a 70's SVT like tone and Bassman sound with character knob.
I focus on this combo because Tech 21 play in analog sound , not digital sound like fender studio. Is it true ?

I didn't even know they made an amp. Not much info on it, but it looks good and the weight is appealing.

Of town names, I hold personal familiarity with Balls Mills.

Some few miles out of the city (in rural Pennsylvania, "city" is relative) the landlocked town of Balls Mills holds local fame as the home of the Balls Mills Naval Academy. City high school students with car keys acknowledge the popularity of Saturday night submarine races at BNMA.

***

The less prosaic truth is the town was named for a man named Ball whose son was not educated in the use of an apostrophe.

Hey Morri..I think you win the town names contest loll..beats any of my Aussie town names lol..well done

To the southeast, deep in Pennsylvania Dutch country, we have the town of Intercourse. Neighboring towns are Bird-in-Hand, Blue Ball and Invalid Link Removed.

Yes, the locals have heard it all, including asking for the blindingly obvious "directions to Paradise."
