For a thread about gigging a combo, I see a hell of a lot of pictures of people gigging a combo sitting on an extension cab. I realize the main amp is a combo, but doesn't adding another cab kind of defeat the purpose of a combo? A combo is all in one. Add a cab and the only things separating the combo rig from a "big rig" are the bolts holding the head in one of the cabs.

How many of you actually rock a combo, without another cabinet?

It does not defeat anything. My 2x10 Combo will rock anyplace a 2x10 stack will.....If I need to fill a bigger stage or venue the extension cab just lets me have one rig for both. My extension is under its nice cover waiting for the chance to be used.....I have my office Printer on it.

I use a combo amp GK MB210 with an extension cab GK MBE410 as my main and only rig currently. Works pretty great for ME right now, so I guess I qualify.

LOVE my BG250 with the 115. Play it every gig with 2 loud rock guitars and it battles them to a minimum of a draw

My 115 cab is my practice cab/TV stand. Functional decoration.

Count me in. Plus I see I am the first Eden combo owner to surface. Eden CXC110 / D112XLT combo. My main rig. I also use a SWR Workingmans 15 and a MarkBass MicroMark 801.

My main amp is an Eden Nemesis NC410 combo, like this. Mine lives at the church, so I borrowed a pic I found online. The only difference is that mine has casters that I added.

Not a sports fan, maybe? I probably should have spelled that out further. Many times I hear athletes (especially in team sports) claim they've been disrespected by the media or opponents, even when the things said about them were actually pretty benign. Similarly, some TBers will say the gear they like is "hated" or gets no respect from lots of other posters, even when that really doesn't seem to be true.

.. grab just my Rumble 500 combo, my bass, and a cable, plug in and play...

...You need to grab your head, AND your cab, AND a speaker cable as well as instrument and instrument cable before you can play...

OK, I am a notorious but respectful critic of combos. However, I just don't understand how the trivial convenience of not plugging in a cable or carrying a 4.5 lb micro head in a gig bag pocket can seem so important. No need to defend it, though. If it matters to you, it matters. I get it.

The tiny effort required to carry and connect/disconnect a micro head doesn't hold me back from preferring a modular rig.
