The Combo Club

I am mainly coming from a rack + heavy cab experience.
I started out with a Eden / Nemesis NC-210P combo
-> Demeter VTBP-201S + QSC PLX-1602 + Bergantino HT322
-> went to using a Schroeder 410 instead of the Berg
-> EA iAmp-600 + EA CX-310
-> went to Yamaha PB-1 preamp + Yamaha CP2000 power amp with the CX-310 = 160 lbs of equipment.

My back has been pretty blinky for a lot of years, so recently, I got an opportunity to get a 2nd hand Genz Benz CTR500-115T + CTR500-EXT115.

I can't believe the tone & volume this rig puts out and I lost about 70 lbs in the process -- SWEET!
1st gig with it was last night -- honeymoons are nice!

I forgot to get a pic last night & I stuffed them into large yard trash bags (really tight fit) because of the rain yesterday.
I don't want to unbag them until I have to in case it rains again when I need to move them.
I practice with headphones, my computer, & a small mixer at the house.
Anyway, I'll post up a pic eventually.

Welcome Sir!! # 19

The Genz Benz works well for upright or acoustic gigs. I add the MB cab for more power.

I'm in.

Here I am rocking my TCE BG250-115 (also DI'd to PA system) with my beloved Fender Pawn Shop Mustang at a small gig last Halloween (hence the ridiculous outfit and blood make-up). Great little amp - does exactly what I want of it with minimal fuss.

No, there is no reliability-related reason for the screwdriver sitting on top of the amp.

Edit: yes, this is my main gigging rig.

and a bloody #21 to you sir!!

Wow....great responses! I know we have just scraped the surface as the Fender Rumble and MB Walkabout folks are out there in numbers!! I figured it would take 20 members to avoid a FAIL....Keep it going!!

I had to make a few judgements as to whether a membership was needed or not......If I did not issue a number it is because you have a traditional main rig and usde the combo sparingly or for practice....If I am wrong I apologize!!

Lots of threads here on TB asking about Combos. Hopefully this gathering of like minded souls can be a forum to help answer these questions. Anyone who did not get a number is probably not a primary combo player however any request for a number will be honored as it shows respect for the combo!! Thanks all!!:bassist::bassist::bassist:

My rig is extremely simple and portable, sounds great and yet loud enough for nearly any stage ill ever play:

Bass => Diamond Compressor=> GK MB212-ii.

The bass is either a 77 Jazz (pic) or more recently an Am. Honey P, the combo is a full 500 watts, light weight and can get very loud, Ive never had it up past 23-30%. I love being able to set up and be ready in 15 min.

I know what you mean...I'm looking for one of those right now...to replace my Eden Metro! (55 lbs or 100 lbs...you decide! and the G-K sounds great with my 5 String!)
