The tiltback, and the AUX IN with its own volume adjustment that makes my BA108v2 so useful to me.
I did try one of those Orange 50 watt combos and I didn't like it so much. I was using a Godin PJ and didn't really have much time to play around with it. So it might be better than what my experience was.

I find trying to describe how one or another amp sounds to me difficult. When I say a combo sounds "articulate", that's more of my own mind attempting to differentiate it from another that sounds different in an undefinable way. So call that one "musical" or something and I'm still at a loss for words.
At this point it basically comes down to what is fun for me, and what works for me. I've no problem extending the range of my fun for things that work. Don't mind the coyote.

Thanks think you’d like it, though I e not played through a combo myself. I do like the feature set, and it has a 12” speaker, I believe, versus the ‘Peg’s 10 in that model range. I’d like to read a review, C7, so feel free to grab one. I know this...look for a robust build if they’re anything like their separates.

Thinking about revamping the rig and purchasing two new lighter weight combos - GK Legacy 12 and the 15.
The 12 would be my grab & go cocktail jazz amp and the 15 would be set up onstage for the party band set. If time and space allowed, I might hook up the 12 off a stereo FX pedal for fun and artistry. If not, I figure at least I’d have a backup amp at the ready on every bigger show.
Anybody else doing something similar?

Semi-similar is an experiment I tried during this down time. I've been using an EHX Micro POG-my only pedal-with a bit of 'octave up' dialed in to use during guitar solos to 'fatten up' the sound into my amp. It sounds almost like a guitar doubling the bass line.
The experiment was to run the dry output into one amp(Rumble 100 or 200C)and the effects output into my Rumble 40, EQed differently than the "bass" amp. The separation works well but, of course, means more cables and stuff to trip over. The R40 fits nicely atop the R100/200C w/o taking up more floor space, which is always a problem at the places we play(ed). I would assume the same would work for any pedal with 2 outputs.
I keep a backup amp in the gigmobile(van)"just in case".
I'm doing some bi-amping myself and loving it. I use a smaller Vox VX50BA and then a head and cabinet and use them simultaneously. I haven't been as experimental as GP, but the smaller amp runs mostly a treble signal and dirty and add to my tone. I have used an octive pedal a bit lately, but not in a bi-amping context. Mike Kerr of Royal Blood does lots of cool mutli-amp stuff.
Hello combo club. I'm looking at some used combos in my area in the $200 range. I'm mostly a basement player but I'm looking for something that I could bring to a band practice. I would either borrow or buy an amp if I ever need a larger one for gigging. My main concern is getting a nice clean tone with enough volume for group practice. Tone shaping features are nice but not a requirement.
After looking around I've decided I don't want a Fender Rumble and also also that buying used will get me a much better amp for my money but of course availability is the key.
So, nearby I've found some inexpensive amps that I think are worth buying.
I'm looking hard at an Ampeg BA 115 100watt (not the V2 but the older model) that seems to be pretty common. It seems to have all the features I want and a good clean burpy sound plus the "voice switch". The videos and sounds I've watched on this make me confident this is a good choice.
However there's both a Genz Benz M-Line 200watt 210 and a Gallien Krueger Backline 300watt 210 both of which are cheaper than the Ampeg and seem like pretty nice amps for how old they are. However I can't find much in the way of sound bites on them. I am not close enough to go play them (someone else would pick them up) Does anyone hear have experience with these amps? Any recommendations or thoughts?

First, I’d stay away from anything Backline unless you play through it and fall in love. You most likely won’t though. Not one of Robert Gallien’s best attempts, it’s not given much love around here. Someone chime in if you disagree.
The Ampeg model you speak of, though chunky and harder to haul around because it’s basically a cube, it was quite popular if you like the B-15ish sound vs. the SVT tone which is baked into the newer versions. I really liked what I heard while listening to others play and was disappointed they didn’t follow that path with v2.
That GK and Ampeg are long in the tooth so you’d want to look hard at their condition and history. Stay away from anything that’s had problems. I’m even thinking a cap job might in the future if the amps are over 20-yrs old. The prices are attractive, I’m sure.

Somewhat heavy, but build quality is top notch! Loved the shaping features. Also, if you have any issues, you've got two Genz Benz experts that are very helpful and responsive here on TB. Based on your options, I'd say go GB!

this is thru Guitar Center and there is a store closer to me than these so I can always return it. But since I love that old British sound as you mentioned I think I’m going to like it.

Gig last night at a place we've played b4. I'd noticed last time that the R100 sounded kinda boomy in there so I made sure to take an amp stand to get it offa the floor. Oops. Wrong stand-no help. It angled the amp up toward me, but I was still coupled to the low, hollow stage. Gots to remember to take the MudStand next time. I had the bass at 9 and low mids at noon with more hi mids and treble than usual and the bright button in. Oh, well, live and learn to do differently.
An aspirational is available on Reverb right now. A Vox T60 form the early oughts. It is in Italy, so the price is good but the shipping cost is prohibitive. Might still pull the trigger if I can get the shipping down.
For me, in that situation, I’ll drop the low-mids down to 10:00 and wipe out the boom. If it’s too drastic, then I’ll gently increase either knob until it’s satisfying, usually the low. To my ears, the mud lives in the low-mid, but I realize so does its Fender heritage. YMMV.
Also, (yeah, there’s more) I use an isolation pad underneath and it does wonder. I think it’s a Gramma, or big fat Gramma...something like that.
