The COVID sheltering is making me miss the company of others enough that this is sounding appealing.
No disrespect to my wife (she remains my favorite companion in this or any time), but I'm far more of an extrovert than she is, and not seeing people very much is a drag.
RR, you’re still here! Seems like forever since you paid us a visit. What am I saying, I was AWOL most of the week.
I am demanding an update on the GK combo situation. Last we read, you weren’t sure you dug the “newer” used combo compared to your “older” model of the same. What’s the latest? Brilliant minds (and mine too) wanna know.
Has one been kicked to the curb? Are you wishing you would’ve done something else? Are you delirious that you have a set of twins? Is the D4 still not taking names as it conquers all?

I'm recording with video, so the Studio One Four has barely been cracked. I'd be happy to hear a click track on my headphone monitor that doesn't record. But the metronome helps me on the playback to see where (and how often!
) my time ... Lots of things I've not figured out.
Just another example of WHY you are our FL! You seem to provide those little subliminal suggestions in your posts that (for me anyway) spark a great idea. Saturday mornings "great idea"? Watch this video - on your big screen if ya can and certainly Cranked Up!!

Around here, we have one of each. The cats made the decision, not the humans. Thankfully, neither cat has clawed an amp or cabinet.

That just sounds so right. Glad to hear your Ray is getting to growl a bit now and then. As I continue to say, a bass that special should continue to be played. When the mood strikes, of course!

Yeah, I've had a bunch of non-combo, non-bass related stuff come up. One car broke down and needed towing from 71 miles away, another is hugely vexing my efforts to keep it on the road, and a third car had to be driven to a specialist 40 miles away, then picked up the next week. The workshop needs new lights, the lights need installing and wiring, the lights also need custom metal end caps made (by me) and installed. Oh, and a kayak arrived on my birthday, then got chucked into the shop because of no time to paddle.
Yesterday morning, tried to catch up on my TB friends (HI!!) and post a couple things before getting a haircut and cleaning more stuff from my Mom's house that I don't have space for but cannot bear to throw away.
So...I have not so much as plugged in any amps in a couple weeks.
Picked up my Warwick Corvette $$ last night after brushing teeth, and played it unplugged for about 5 minutes before crossing the hall and going to bed.
Getting ready to go to a friend's to see if we can un-vex my car parts so that I may continue with the restoration of an orphaned '96.
This is how much I've missed since yesterday. Quite the banter in the past 24 hours.
That's what I have on my Jazz right now as well, 45 Flats. My best set of Fenders broke in two weeks from putting them on and were like honey on my KFC biscuit. These right now may get there, but it's been a long trip so far though it may be because I haven't played the bass much. This dilemma began when I installed the LaBellas that are now on the P and even though I thought it made the Jazz way too dark, I got used to it and now everything else sounds too twangy. Did I mention I can't stand twangy like with roundwounds? Yuck!
Still, it's a beautiful bass and we've lived a charmed life so far so there's probably little chance I'll sell it, or if I do, it'll be to someone I'd be happy to sell the bass to. Make no bones about it though, the Precision has stolen my heart, locked it up in a satin Fender box, and tossed away the key. Now my Rogue bass is when I need that nifty double bass tone or if I'm feeling too lazy to stretch my fingers.
Thanks for reminding me that, yes indeed, you are the 200th member in our club, but #1 in our hearts! Heck, you should get a medal for reading that many club posts, especially all my rants and raves. Glad you've joined un in the conversation.
Don't worry Doc, we kidnapped him and threatened to take away his Ampeg if he had detailed plans of your rig setup. All I can say is his 'Peg is safe at home because none of us can figure out that three-step calculus problem!
Actually RR, it was my stage name in my band back in the 80s. Rock Raucous on drums. I wanted to be "Handsome Dick Manitoba" but it was already taken. (trivia question for those who know who the band was)

Who says Combo Club members don't have exciting lives outside these acoustically-padded walls? Rod, at least you're getting out and about. I leave home, drive 16 miles to school, drive 16 miles back home, and fall asleep watching TV, only to do the exact same thing the next day. I'm excited by the fact that I have a different mask to wear for each of the five days...
I only get out on the weekends. My work day commute is within the house. Why I never seem to have time is a mystery to me.
