The Combo Club

I'm having another rum and eggnog...

Speaking of, I logged you in with your first one early this afternoon. Remember, there’s a 250-drink limit because of CA’s dry conditions.

I’ll bet you had a great day today, didn’t ya? I wrote out Auld Lang Syne today but haven’t started messing with it yet.

Didn’t you tell me once that Swink was from Saudi Arabia?

I have a few to go before the 250 limit (Hic).

As far as Swink being from Saudi Arabia, what's the drink limit in IA?

And remember to put the fire out in the fireplace before going to bed tonight or you will give a whole new meaning to Auld Lang Syne

Believe it or not, I have gigged twice with this combo, GK MB 110.View attachment 4101654

I keep reading how players are using GK’s 110 and 112 to gig and I’m thinking, how? I need to take a listen more closely. I know the 112 is a couple hundred watts with DI Out, but what about the 110? Isn’t it a hundred watts? Perhaps with a low-volume acoustic group?

Me too, whether they are micro or not. I just want a gig :help:!

Well here's to this. ^

What I saw this week as I browsed the local blues scene are highly tentative plans for March tryouts for a summer festival. Now to me, this is an easy gig, it's a good gig — relatively speaking, given the eccentricities of the personalities of six string blues players — but at present an out-of-reach gig with few ways to get my name out in the musical community. No open mikes, no places to rub elbows &c &c

It is Christmas Eve two years ago when I make the resolve to join Ari Cap's Music Theory for the Bass Player beta cohort. 2020 is the year I completed it — all 40 weeks — and we begin again in three weeks.

Feeling good about it.

A friend who I seldom see rang me a couple nights ago. What are you doing? ... music theory blah blah blah ... and she says going to hook you up with a friend who knows everyone in the local music scene

And — speaking of combo amps — this friend who rang me is the very same friend whose son is (presumably still) the owner of my silversides Peavey TNT 100. It was a freebie to him on a pay-it-forward agreement. I've not seen it since it left my house, but I am assured it is loud. Would be stupid loud for the guitar he plays :roflmao:

So let’s get to the main part of this story. YOU may have some upcoming gigging...yahoo! Maybe all that terrific music theory you’ve been stoking up on will begin paying big dividends. Keep us posted, okay? You may have to polish up up your PJB gear. ;)

You know I've been doing gigs with the R40, right?(restaurant lounge; guitar, drums, me)
