The Combo Club

Then, thinking off the top of my head, we’ll all meet in Keokuk and call it the “Kombo Konvention in Keokuk!” I love this idea.

Like I’ve seen in other clubs, ya bring your bass, ya bring your combo(s), we hook up the whole mess and try each other’s rigs out, have an impromptu jam (invite one drummer and half a guitar player), and eat chocolate pecan pie.

How could this not be the most fun since the night I came to bed wearing only an N-95 mask?

Get on this, people!
Sounds excellent! But, is Keokuk READY for it?

Not sure I'm totally comfortable wit the proposed name. May convey the wrong sort of convention idea.

As far as food, I recall a promise of some pizzas with sauerkraut as well! And @mikeoso can still bring martini mixings!

Ahh, good call, my friend. Tried to be cutting edge and didn’t catch it. That’s why they threw me out of the Cutting Edge Club.

Then we’ll table the site and name until after the holidays. Better yet, send in your own destination and convention title and our committee will give it every consideration. Central location might be best, but I’m open to all cutting edge brainstorms.

You may begin. :hyper:

RR, you being the pie and I’ll bring the pizza!

And Miles, ya can't leave out blueberry or pecan either! No wonder the world loves math so much. They do...right? As a former math teacher, that's at least what I always thought. One year, a former principal at our school who loved to bake, offered any student in the building a free dessert if they could explain what so big about 3.14. We'll do anything to reach a kid's understanding.
I have always loved math. I started learning it at the age of 3, watching Mom balance the checkbook. I still do more in my head than I do with a calculator.

Right on, Man. I made mental math with my students a staple saying that they may not all use higher-order math, but they’ll surely need to know how to buy groceries or pay bills. And there’s nothing like pre-estimation to help you along the way.

Just so it's not premature estimation.:bag:

Wow, Goner. It’s the holidays and all.

So what do ya think of my convention idea? I got it! We could convene in Ohio and pick up the Kasino cab while we’re there. Call me a crazy sentimental old fool, but that cabinet would be the perfect way to say to all, “Check out my garage door now!”

The new guys are getting the UPGRADED communicator badges, right? The left side of my tongue still feels funny from the old communicator badge. :wacky:

Time (and badge updates) marches on. It’s al it’s ‘21, RR!

Yes, Roddy, as documented in the Combo Clubhouse section of the Combo Club Wiki page, after you pushed the innocuous "Code Fuchsia" incident into the catastrophic "Code Green" situation, :rollno: we were forced to recall all the nuclear badges and roll out the newly developed "Quantum" badges, which have all performed beyond expectations and without incident ever since. :D

And rest assured that any seemingly snarky or sarcastic responses you may get from your "Quantum" badge is just the playful personality that we've taught the AI, and there is no real danger. We have determined that the member who previously reported being threatened by their badge was mistaken and simply didn't understand the joke, that's all. The AI was still learning human reactions at that time and has since apologized profusely, to the full satisfaction of all involved. I repeat, there is no real danger from our new Combo Club Communicator Badges.

Bassists are not the red shirts of the band crew, beamed down as a precaution :meh:

Everyone

please be careful tonight, there is a DUI checkpoint at the corner of Hallway and Kitchen. Be safe.
When I said that Santa breaches health and safety regulations, I should have said what they were.

Work at Height - there must be a steady work platform with guard rails or safety lines on the rooftops and firm hand and footholds inside the chimneys.
Confined Spaces - there must be a rescue team and oxygen analysers for inside the chimneys. A supply of oxygen must be there for low levels.
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health - there must be reasonable protection from the soot and dust inside the chimneys.
Personal Protective Equipment - protection from the dust must include high filtering masks and eye protection.

Santa must do risk assessments for every household he goes to.

How is it possible that you don't recognize your previous TB username, Dave Hostetler, nor see the "I Rock a Combo" #14 link in your signature?

I just today had the same situation with a name changer in the Fender Rumbke Club and accidentally issued them a second member number, before catching and correcting myself! And, yes, you're listed there by your previous TB username, too.

I hope @iagtrplyr doesn't accidentally give you another member number!

No, but at my command, there’s sure a heck of a lot of virtual danger. Enjoy!

Sir Hoss! Nice hearing from you. A couple of pages ago I posted our current membership roster and yes, you are #14, one of the originals. Sheesh, I’m older than dirt and I’m like #51.

Regardless, you can stop be anytime you like to show off what you’re taking to the big dance. Obviously, I’m talking about your take-no-prisoners Behringer combo. Oh yeah, and your Fender assault weapons aren’t too bad either!

Don’t be a stranger and DON’t forget to add the CC to your sig.
