Found a friend in another TB thread who owns one. I have pleaded with him to bring his experience with it over here to share. For that matter, he has a great eye for how to tastefully modify basses.

Here is my Hartke HD508 combo and this little thing really does have some Balls. I have used it at practice and it cuts through really well with good bottom end and my drummer is a hard hitter. Have yet to try it at a gig though cause well....Ya know 
...But I hope to use it gigging soon here in Vegas if things get rolling here for Entertainment again. When things do get better we will have tons of gigs due to how many Vegas bands have broke up this past year. I feel very lucky to be playing with really seasoned musicians at the moment and hope it continues.
Shoot.(sp?) If ya DI to the PA, it's prolly enuff.

It's me-no, not Adele-back from the dead aka going back to work.
I replaced the speaker in my Ampeg BA115 with the Celestion. As promised, I am here to report back:
It was louder for sure. It was tighter and more responsive. It did slightly alter the Ampeg sound. I liked it, but if I were an Ampeg purist, I might not have.
I ended up returning it though and here's why:
I was surprised to see more of a difference in the sound quality than I thought I would.
I was also surprised to see LESS of a difference in weight than I did. It was only 4-5 pounds lighter than the stock speaker. The weight-also surprisingly to me-is a lot in the actual amplifier part of the combo. To take this to the next step, it also balanced weird with the lighter speaker. The amplifier part made the combo top heavy. It was still better (weight wise) than the combo with the stock speaker in it, but not enough to justify the expense. If money weren’t an object, I would have kept it. It sounded better and was a little lighter, but for the price, there are other gear changes I can make which will have more of an impact for me.
Also, to update everyone on the double Ampeg BA115 Rig of Fury:
as you can see by my signature, I'm selling the new BA115. I wanted to explain though that this is not because I am disappointed in the double combo rig, it's just a matter of funding another project and freeing up space in the house. If money were no object I’d keep that, too!

Okay, I could totally look this up, but I want your take:
I know Tod Rundgren’s a big deal but am not overly familiar with him.
Can you frame up how he fits into music in a few bullet points?
Ordered a Peavey Max 208 today. I can't wait to try it out.

Beautiful condition, C7, at least from this angle. I would give my left Rumble to spend an hour with that combo.
I prefer my bass straps to be more temperament and even-keeled...
