As mentioned, no knocking model or brand, but I do have a Bugera question that’s been driving me batty for many moons. Maybe you can offer an idea.

Why on earth are they still offering a CD input using RCA jacks and not an 1/8”-inch input for today’s phones? I found that to be odd, but it seems like it’s standard equipment on their amps. I know you can get an adaptor, but are that many people currently plugging in their CD players to their amps? What am I missing here?

Yeaahhh- that’s kind of weird...RCA jacks. For your 8-track player???? I’ll be getting an 1/8” adapter, but...REALLY??!

I think you know but you can still get 1/8 stereo to RCA cables and adapters. It's obviously a little more of a PITA now that you can't walk into a Radio Shack anymore. It is weird though to stay with RCAs when most of the industry has moved to 1/8".

But along with that 1/8” jack, why no USB charging port for our phones and mp3 players? Esp as many of us use those for our drum/metronome for practice and for sure running music during gig breaks.....Maybe I wouldn’t want for one if I had a pedal board with power sources? Charging cords seem to be so short, having that option would be convenient.

Yeah the Phil video is pretty bad. His Stringray sounds horrible in that vid. Not a good audio representation of the combo.

Yes, the Telebass rings a bell.

They are well rated on the sites that sell them. I can't imagine they aren't good enough for all but the most discerning player.

I'm sad (or pleased) to report that I will no longer be an official member of this club soon as I plan to sell the Ampeg 115 to fund a separate amp/head system since I am ready to move out of the basement and into band spaces. I love that amp, but at over 60 lbs I can't even begin to think about moving it on the regular.

I got a great deal on an Eden head and 10" cabinet from separate vendors on the web. The new rig will be double the power and half the weight.

Westy, once a CC member, forever a CC member! Don't worry about it, you're always welcome to chime in. Anyway, who's to say you won't be picking up another combo at some point in the future? We'll wait.

It's been on my to-do list for a bit, along with a half-million others, but it's one of those opportunities to put a long-term relationship together...again. The truck will drop it off on Wed.

Absolutely. This little corner of TB is why the site was created.

I will say I really didn't want to go to separate amp/cabs, but the flexibility it offers is why people do that. Also incidentally I also wasn't looking to match brands on the cab/head, but it was just the perfect cab for my needs and was also by far the best price! Clearly the universe was telling me something.

I use a CD player for our break music. I carry two connectors, 1 w/ RCA's, 1 w/ 1/8", depending on whether I'm going into my PA(JBL EON ONE-RCA's)or Rumble amp(1/8").

My Ampeg has CD inputs which tells you how old it is. I keep an Amazon Echo dot nearby and use that as a backing track. Since it has almost no bass output it makes it very easy to play the bass part on almost any recording.

Which is in large part how I settled on a battery-powered pedalboard. What it locks me out of, though, are pedals with odd voltage requirements that necessitate a wall wart. What I'd love to run is a Nordstrand Starlifter, and that requires a 15VAC 300mA (talk about power pigs). An outlet on the rear of an amp would be

I believe this subject came up a year ago (or so) when @agedhorse was asking what improvements TB members would like to see in future amps. This was one of them. Maybe Mesa will be the first to offer it?
