The Combo Club

Well as I said I would I took the Ampeg 115 down to the store today and sold it. I also sold a Breedlove 12 string I had too and used the proceeds to pay for this beauty. This thing really brings the booty for a 10” speaker and sounds pretty close to the Ampeg, just not quite as “throaty”.

I will say I had a twinge of sadness as I heard the manager play the Ampeg one last time. I didn’t even own her for a year but she was such a great amp for so little coin. I hope whoever picks her up is as happy with her as I was.

Did not look at all the post, and all the combo's posted. Managed to get this off individual in a moving sale. Ampeg B2 Combo. Real reasonable deal, probably for what a speaker would cost? Decent shape, but weighs around 87lbs,at least it has wheels!View attachment 4210684
Yup. Even Ampeg’s new stuff is heavy comparatively. But the sound. Yes please.

I have been watching a lot of Harry Potter and practicing my sorcery. I accidently turned my ampeg 210 into this

N420, I don’t think you magically turned your combo into this bass because I don’t think it’s sitting at a 60-degree angle like a wedge-shaped combo would in that chair. I won’t get fooled again!

Wow- you scored a nice one there- Thought about MB combos, but a little speedy for my present level- sadly...that JB 15” or the student model are tempting!!!

Thanks ‘68. Did some recording with it via the XLR out of the combo to my Presonus USB 96, with no pedal board in between. Very nice sounding. This darn combo is forcing me to look at all my gear and wonder why. I’m shocked too.

But your Wizardry seems potent! That’s a nice looking bass! What combo are you thinking of now?? You had TWO Ampeg at one point??? Refresh my fading memory...

Hey that's my line..... :rage:
Calling FL...... I think we have a copycat....

Welcome CD, there's not much love for the B2 on TB.... but I know. I love mine....

I think you might be looking for this... https://ampeg.com/pdf/B-2R.PDF

Now don’t make call on the copy cat police, okay? Actually swinky, that’s what every owner of the B2 combo says. I enjoyed the tonal options with bass and treble controls and EQ, but you couldn’t get away from how darn heavy it was to lug around. I thought it was built really well though.

Loved this one. Hey, how was the gig? Hurry, I’m down to 8% on me phone.
As my dad used to say, "Well..., they didn't stone us".
It went pretty well. We used guitar, drums, me, and a sax player 'friend of the band'. Most of the ppl came for the shrimp(yuk!)and fish(ditto), but the 'hangers on' liked us.
