My new partner is out of town for the weekend, so I will definitely indulge in some bass-therapy tonight. I am trying to learn all of Moving Pictures and have up to Camera's Eye roughed in. I never learn songs perfectly anyway, so I am happy with my progress.
Have fun. Other than the first album, Rush pretty much scares the heck outta me. Too much thinking to play like Ged.
I love your learning philosophy. When I hit that wall, I begin building a path around it. If it’s good enough for me, and I’m in a tribute band, so be it!
I'm not teaching, but still dragging myself over the last 14 months working frome home - hopefully to some summer holidays (got 2 jabs, travel free)

As most of you comboites know, my favorite combo combo is the 1967 GIBSON NR THUNDERBIRD IV>the R200c. Did an outside gig yesterday afternoon, playing almost exclusively rock that's more "rockus" than what my regular band(notice I didn't say "normal")plays. Settings were: GAIN-~10, VINTAGE and BRIGHT-on, OD-mute, BASS-9:30ish, LO MID-2, HI MID-3, TREBLE-noon, VOLUME-~10:30; EHX Micro POG: DRY-full, SUB-11, UP-1. Revised chain: Bass, POG, R200c. No PA support, as usual.

I like those settings on the POG. Glad you combo kicked it!
I usually only turn up the SUB knob if I 'need' a low Eb or D, but using both gave me a bit more depth plus the UP added some edge to my tone. Good for what we were doing.
People taking pictures, huh? Maybe they're starting a new line of rock star trading cards (an idea whose time came and went, IMHO) and you're gonna be on one of them. I'd buy a pack, especially if there was bubble gum inside. Then I could trade your card and get score me a 1969 john Paul Jones rookie card. Yeah, I think you're worth that much, GP. Glad you had fun sounding awesome.

Picked up this EBS Classic Session 30 at the weekend, for home use. I usually just listen via Boss GT-1000 Core, on my monitors, but I keep trying little amps to see if anything clicks. This one has aux in, headphone in, and XLR out, which was a must-have for me. Not too heavy, and not too loud - I don't expect to ever use this outside the house.
I got a genz-benz shuttle 6.0-12T and a fender rumble 25 for practicing. I think I have been playing the shuttle since 08 or something like that.

Yes I think it’ll be good and a change from using monitors all the time. I was going down a rabbit hole of looking at more expensive combos but I felt like this one should be enough!

Update(sorta): Got asked to do the Tuesday night jam(conveniently tomorrow night
). Gonna use the same setup as Saturday, including the POG. A little lower volume needed for the venue. We'll have the nucleus band plus who knows who playing who knows what-tune and instrument. Semi-outside venue, mosquitoes will be well fed.
