Have Bass will Travel. The Elf has really saved the day. My gt1000core has a crazy grounding issue that I need to send it in to get fixed. But having the headphone output and ability to kill the speaker is keeping me going at night. We're supposed to have some time off for memorial day, hoping to crank it up and see what it can really do.

We're supposed to have some time off for memorial day, hoping to crank it up and see what it can really do.
Nu, remind me (us), do you have the ten or the eight speaker? Here’s wishing you get the peace and quiet to crank up and make some serious bass noise. I’m dying to know if you can actually generate a couple hundred watts of sound energy out that driver. Let us know as soon as you do...unless blue smoke rises, then you can wait a bit to tell us. Thanks!

So. No gigs this weekend. However. Gigs Fri/Sat/Sun next weekend(6/4-6/6). Benn a long time since I've played 3 days in a row. Wish I could say it's good money. It's not. No BFD, at least I'm playing/able to play. Now if only my love life...

Doc, I say that's really good stuff there. YYZ scares the bejeezus outta me! Are you doing that with one of your Hofners? It seemed a tad bottom-heavy compared to Geddy's bright tone, but that might've been the recording. No matter, you did a fine job playing that flurry of notes. No wonder you wanted to shake things up. And here I was gonna post the Corona Spezial Orchestra's sea shanty. Thanks a lot, bub.

Yeah, it was my 68 Hofner and two Vox amps. One Vox amp was running dirty and the other clean. It for sure had more bottom than Geddy. I am not sure if I would want to change that. I am not sure if I could.
Nah, have it sound the way you like it to sound. Prior to Ged going to his trusted Jazz army, I always thought his tone was a bit thin. I liked his Ric sound overall, but ta got to admit it was quite trebly. Now you can spend $$$ on the various Tech21 pedals to replicate that sound.
Speaking of, are you familiar with YYNOT? They're currently my favorite rock band and cover Rush like no one else does, plus they're putting out their own stuff. The bass player uses both a Ric and a Jazzer through Ampeg two stacks but uses the Geddy Lee 2112 pedal that gives it bite. check them out on YT if you haven't heard them. My current fave song of theirs is "Open Book" from their second release back in 2019.
Any man who works a Rush tune-up with a Hofner has a set of brass ones that no one should mess with. Rock on, Doc!
Having never liked Geddy's tone, I like it better. Change it not.
Good evening, Comboites, it is your Fearless Leader here to soothe the savage beast with a sea shanty. This is my final contribution to the Corona Spezial Orchestra being my subscription has ended and I'm ready to get back to playing and recording with others who actually like Geddy Lee's bass tone. 
Okay, maybe not, but without further adieu, here's this month's piece. We had over 500 musicians and a bunch of singers record "Wellermann." and I personally think it turned out great. After four months, I was finally able to wear the official orchestra shirt that I had to order from Germany. That was back in January and it literally arrived a day or two before recording my part. Feel free to play, "Find your FL." G'Dog seems to enjoy the competition, and if I'm lucky, I may land one last time in the Wiki pages. Enjoy!

I've heard of YYNot and watched a bunch of that player's YouTube videos (Tim?). He is great! I had the YYZ pedal, but I didn't like it and sold it. Maybe I should have given it more of a chance.

That was great! Nice to see FL and the violin bass figure prominently on the bass splash scene.
Yep, Tim Starace, I believe. The guy's a beast. To me, if you're going for the Rush bass tone, that series of pedals is as good as what's out there. If you weren't feeling it, maybe it's not for you, but if you want the kind of tone this guy is rocking with, then I'd say it might be worth looking at their small stompbox again. Still, Doc, you had a decent vibe going on in YYZ.
Thought you'd catch that! Seriously, I can't play anything else right now. In fact, I just went through a couple of songs I plan on recording tomorrow and began on the Precision. In ten minutes I'm putting it down and grabbing the Rogue. The sound was sweet but too thin for what I've been used to of late. We recorded our fifth graders singing their farewell song last Wednesday and it was the violin bass through the Markbass combo feeding into my Rumble 115 cab. Loud enough to keep the song moving, but my tone was aces all week we were rehearsing and then the final video.
Don't tell anyone as SR's the only one who knows this, but I got the green light to buy the Ignition Pro right now, but I've decided to hold off until next year and make it my retirement gift. This summer's survival present to me might be the Ampeg RB-115 combo or possibly the four-input Focusrite Scarlett interface. I opened my big mouth over in the Rumbler club about Ampeg tone vs. Rumble tone so I need to back it up or never hear the end of it from G'Doggy. But everyone, including my CEO, knows I have too many combos and am running outta space!

Sounds like a good plan. If they run out of those Ignition Pros in the US check out Thomann out of Germany. Hofner is selling a similar line of Ignitions in Europe, as the Pros are a North American exclusive. I bought some stuff from Thomann and it worked out very well.
Good to know. I've always wondered how they are to work with. The one I've been looking at is from Chicago Music Exchange. That's where I bought the Precision from last summer and they were great to work with. $399 with free shipping. That's what's gonna get me through each day next school year; knowing I'm gonna buy a Hofner, but it's gonna have to fight the Rogue for the top spot in the stable because that little lady has become an extra appendage on me.
I've got the combo in the cart and have 42 hours to order it to have it here by 6.5.21. I hope the others who've pre-ordered either have or are getting close to claiming theirs. I'd feel really guilty to get one before them. Then I'd get over it real quick!
