Ari gives the lessons, and as a coach I learn from Ari too. A great deal of study ahead is what I see. Reading on a saxophone and reading on a bass are worlds apart for me. And talked just a few days ago with one of my most enduring of bass friends — we were at Musician's Institute at the same time — and ...

and in fact he tells me he's got a Peavey combo in the pit

and says a 5 string is pretty normal in the pit here in the future. Doesn't really feel like investing in a 5 string for work that's not interesting to him now.

Right. Today is the monthly Ask Ari. That's a free Zoom for course participants (present and past), and book readers. She answers questions in real time. . We've private time for the Music Theory for the Bass Player cohort participants, and that's where I show up live, with the other coaches. It's unscripted. What I anticipate is listening to everyone.

Well folks here is a good reason why combo amps are nice. While playing with my son today I got confused and plugged the output jack of my amp into the wrong device and emitted the smell.
It still functions but it isn’t right. Given how service goes i may be better off buying a new one. I don’t see how this could happen with a combo.

Well, um, uh, some combos can drive an extension cab. So what you did could be done with those combos. Fortunately, they don't always need a cab.
