The Combo Club

LJB, long time no hear from. How ya been? Yeah, some of us have been raving about the new combo on the block. The Rocket Basses look to be a home run for Ampeg/Yamaha, but can these and the Fender Rumbles live in harmony on this blue orb we call Earth? I say, yes we can!

Good seeing ya. Don’t be a stranger.

Thanks!!!!!! Moved from NC Back to TN so a little nuts

Good evening, folks. Kinda a quiet around here today from the looks of it. I have a two-fold topic to kick around if anyone’s interested.

I was wondering wha you’re going to be up to over the 4th of July weekend (or this weekend if you live outside the USA).

Will you be shopping, looking to try out new gear, planning on a big buy, or might you have a gig this weekend you’re looking forward to? M

For me, neither of the above so I’m looking to live vicariously through you! My big spending days are over for a while, though I am interested in picking up a cover for my RB-112 this summer.

Okay, I’m off the chatterbox. Next? :hyper:

I am not buying anything soon. I just had a flurry of purchases, and yesterday finally completed my tri-amp project. The third amp enables me to produce guitar sounds. I have a three piece project, so I want to fill in gaps in various ways.

Here are some pics.

All my gas is for pedals right now. Small enough that the wife doesn’t ask questions when they come and easy to ship when I’m ready to sell them.
This week I added the CSIDMAN and traded a Keeley Caverns for the Gold Star. Currently trying to sell the Filter Twin and the Bit Crusher to fund either either a tremolo or an octave pedal.

Thanks for jumping in! Doc, I gotta admit, your tri-amp pic has to be your most uncluttered look yet. I’m actually getting your setup.

Good pic of your pedals which begs me to ask you, how do like the TCE Sub Up? Many moons ago I was interested in an octave pedal and I found that one intriguing. What’s your opinion? Thanks!

I don't use the Subup as an octive pedal. Rather, it just changes my bass sounds so that they are in the guitar range. I do have a octive pedal on my bass board. I don't use it too much and can't recall what brand it is. I got it from a guitar playing in a trade for an Ampeg preamp pedal.

This is how husbands/bass hobbyists have survived for hundreds...no, thousands of years, toeing that thin line between musical nirvana and a happy marriage. Nicely done, WBB!

Yup. It’s why electric instruments are so awesome. For as little as $50 you can have almost a whole new instrument and it just gives you new stuff to explore. It’s interesting how it goes too. That Uncle overdrive was my first and cheapest pedal and I still just can’t see any reason to by another OD/fuzz pedal. Meanwhile the Grape Phaser was a massive disappointment until I linked it with a reverb and then it becomes just amazing.
