that’s a beautiful bass. I’m a sucker for that maple finish. But a cracked neck! I’d run from that particular one!

This guy knows the neck is bad. I tried to get him to let me pay for a setup, whether the neck is bad or good I pay, and if it is good I'd buy the bass. He wouldn't do it. Should I email Reverb and tell them?

Yeah, I agree with your earlier comment. Does it need a good neck shim and set-up, or is it a mess?

One of the unexpected bonuses I find when recording through DI of the PJB BG-400 combo is the amplifier's limiter.

Normally such a statement is followed by a why a limiter is so good, or what makes the PJB limiter better than an AnyAmp limiter. Would that I can say. There are War and Peace length TB treatises on limiters and compressors. My approach is turn the knob until I hear a difference, then turn it back a smidge. Certain there's science behind that, for good or ill.

What I haven't yet figured out is an optimal way to use the DI -> DAW, monitor through headphones, voice through an SM-58 and use Zoom. So far no dice. Zoom kind of gloms onto the arrangement and takes control. Best solution I have so far for Zoom is just use the headset for bass and voice. In the jargon of another profession, Zoom is a rude program. <- technical speak of how it's programmed, not an opinion

@Morrighan whats your goal with Zoom? Is it to record something for a meeting?

I agree btw what you hear is what matters. I wish every bass amp had compression or a limiter it should be automatic. Too expensive? But that said not having compression as far as technique goes makes me be a more disciplined bass player. Hope that makes sense.

Zoomin sounds.....not a fan of Zoom’s sound processing, though I have never tried to take advantage of their ‘pro-sound’ feature....Best of luck with all that M! Glad you seem to have found a silver lining out of all this.
