He does live down the road in Moose Jaw. Thought he would settle in Saskatoon, but nope.Great news, Doctor! It’s coming together for ya, both the forming of what sounds like a solid group and your unique sound. I’m sure you’ll find it worth the patience you’ve given the whole thing.

And if you’re wondering, “Why is FL in so early and seemingly in a good mood?” Because I took my first personal day off (excluding babies being born) in my career! So for me, today will be fun, frolic, lunch out, musical shopping, hanging out with my bro, playing music, and whatever trouble we can get ourselves into!
Then the pumpkin carriage will bring me back home, the horses will revert to mice again, and I’ll head back to tutor my pupils tomorrow...sigh.

After my Dad retired, my father-in-law asked him how he liked not working. My Dad said "I'm still working, just not getting paid."SR, I had the absolute best day ever today! We ran a few errands, drove down to the QC, and went to Best Buy for some computer gadgets. Then, we proceeded to Five Guys for a delicious burger and fries. We followed that with a trip to our local GC where I suffered listening to keyboards (or is it keyboring?). The highlight was picking up my third Focusrite Scarlett in like four months. The Rev is taking with him the 18i20 and currently has the 2i2, but I now have a brand new 18i8 with four combi-XLR inputs on the front. It's what I wanted from the outset and will serve me well.
We then shuffled up the road to a brick 'n mortar music store that was selling the previous model of Peavey Max bass amps for like $40 less than their original retail. My God, Man, it's the old series! There was one Ibanez southpaw guitar (no lefty basses, of course) and a few ukes. Seriously, that was it. Once a mega music store back in the 80s, it was nothing more than a poor facsimile of itself. They're surviving on instrument rentals and I don't know what else.
Last stop was Northpark Mall (the last time I was there I had dark hair) where I hung out at our Barnes and Noble while he shopped. upon gazing at music books I found a Christmas present two months early with the purchase of my attachment. I told ya it was a fun day. After that, we drove back home and enjoyed a Happy Joe's Canadian Bacon and Saurkraut pizza. Ya can't beat a local favorite!
Now I'm heading to my pillow where I can dream about the day I tried out retirement and liked it!
Ive only missed a handful of working days in my lifetime. I started in the working world at 15 too. But I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve never been late to work ever in my lifetime. And for 30 of those years as a fedex courier I punched a clock everyday. Never late. Not once. No one cared. No one noticed. Lol. But I did.
Wow @Morrighan that seems like quite the life! Limos. Looks like a first class lounge. Can I ask what you do for a living? And you mention a video. Is that located somewhere for public view?

That's probably close to the history of millions(?) of 'student' guitars. It looks so easy-when pros are playing. Kids wanna go from store to star without 'learning to walk' first.Sounds like a harried but cool life. would love to see some of the videos if you have links.
Music theory. If I had it to do all over again I would stay with the lessons I started when I was 12 (60 now) and I would switch from 6 strings to 4. As it was I hated my guitar teacher. He used to paint his shoes a different color everyday! For some unknown reason that bothered me lol. And I didn’t want to learn no stinkin’ Jingle Bells! I wanted to play me some Beatles! When I went to return the guitar he said your never gonna be Elvis. And I said I don’t wanna be Elvis and walked out!
When I started lessons he gave me a gorgeous guitar and said this is a better guitar than normally comes with the lessons. I didn’t believe him. (only after a lifetime of purchasing over 60 guitars and basses do I know he wasn’t lying about wish I had that acoustic today!) you had to take the lessons for a year for the guitar to become yours! I didn’t make it! Looking back that was a great deal!
Anyway. 48 years later. I’m self taught and kicking myself. And I’m an old dog that doesn’t wanna learn new tricks.
So to you young people out there lean some theory! Go as far as you can! That’s my two cents…..
