I haven't read all 17 pages yet, but my vote is for John Doe of X.

He is not an influence in terms of bass playing, but he just exhudes cool when he is on stage.

Coolest all round? This guy, circa 1979. And if you didn't agree, he would throw down his bass jump into the crowd and beat the crap out of you. (And as a 5th Dan in 4 different martial arts he could get away with it )

Coolest player? This guy has the best fingering technique I have ever seen, and such stage prescence that his lead vocalist - the supposed 'most beautiful man in the world' - used to sit back and let him run the show. Wonderfully creative player as well.

Two polar opposite bass players but both immensely important in my own appreciation of the instrument.
