Yes. But I remember him at the old Keil Auditorium doing that solo on a rather beat-up looking P.

Here it is today, I bought it from Paul back in 1981. "Another Man's Woman" is obviously my favoite all-time bass solo.

When I spoke with Paul Goddard he said that if he still had that bass it would be worth a lot of money! But he did say it was hard for him to play. Pretty amazing considering that solo on AMW.

I place Ralphe at the top of my list!!

His work with Jean Luc Ponty was so inspiring and- that cat CAN PLAY!!!

If you're serious about bass- listen to that referenced clip... all the way through...

I have seen pics (during his Fusion/MO daze)...Armstrong is using a Fender Jazz body with a fretless P-bass neck.

That album is called Images; he's all over that album, every track kills...was it Popswell's first with The Crusaders? Anyway, when I first heard it, what a difference he made in that band.

I kinda recall an anecdote where Stanley was using a Gibson EB-something...the guys that were to become Alembic were at this show & told him: You play great but your sound is crap. Try one of these.
