The coolest synth bass lines ever!

I would have to add, a LOT of tracks from Depeche Mode. Saw them in concert on their latest tour and they were pretty good. They had an amazing drummer. One of the synth backup guys did play one song on the bass at some point, forget which one it was.

Ok, guilty as charged your honor, I'm a 70's/80s tragic who loves synth basslines but refuses to play them on keys; it's bass in hand & pedal underfoot. With my Korg G5, Zoom B1on & MS60B at the ready, I'm only missing an Akai Deep Impact so educate me more & recommend some of your all time favorite synth bass lines. Simple or intricate, slow, groovy or ridiculously fast, anything will work. I'll kick off with: Boogie on Reggae Woman, All I Do & Rocket Love by Stevie, Jive Talkin by BeeGees, What is Love & Like to Get to Know You Well by Howard Jones, Hyperactive & She Blinded Me with Science by Thomas Dolby. Your ideas?

Of Course Stevie Wonder, especially his "Superstition" always ringing in my mind from time to time..

I'd add,..Many of tracks produced by "LaFace" (Invalid Link Removed & Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds), which synth bass played by Kayo (Kevin "Kayo" Roberson), especially the 'slow jams' are very tasteful and have kind of their own 'silent' signature lines IMHO.
I learn, copy and adapt much of his synth bass lines into my bass playing, and people (producers) who hire me usually loves them :D
The interesting thing for me is that Kayo actually is also a bass 'guitar' player. But I prefer much of his work on the Synth Bass. Check them out! :D

Big Time - Peter Gabriel

Are you sure that one is synth? Im pretty sure Tony Levin played a bass with his drums stick finger attachments on that one.
Could be doubling a synth line also.
Same as Peter Gabriels 'SledgeHammer' . Always thought that was a synth, but it's actually Tony Levin playing a fretless with a pick going through
an octave divider. Sounds very synth like!
