yeah, that single humbucker in mm position + passive electronics made me curious how it sounds, so i got impulsive once again
it´s black with a white pickguard.

My guitar tech figured out that one of the metal tabs from one of the pots was making contact with the inside of the control cavity that is painted with conductive paint. He fixed it and it sounds killer. I know that a lot of people do not care for the import MK1 pickups but this bass sounds so killer with those pickups and the Mark Bass preamp.
NBD! I bought this GB54JJ new about two weeks ago from a store in Indianapolis through Reverb. I got it for a little over $270; it was discounted because the store had "had it for a while". It still had plastic over the pickguard and pickups.
I'm really impressed with the build quality and playability. Tone-wise I'm withholding judgement until I put some new strings on it. Before i do that though I'm going to investigate swapping the bridge and tuners for black hardware. Anybody have any experience swapping the bridge or tuners?

I traded a Peavey 1820 Cab I had that was collecting dust for this Cort Curbow Signature Series a couple of years ago. It's the bass that got me back to playing again. And even though I now play an Ibanez SR400EQM this Cort will hold a special place in my past. Thinking about filing the nut and stringing it BEAD.
I got my first Cort (P Bass) in 1981... still have it too!
I bought a B4FL a few years ago for next to nothing which has become one of my favourite basses and I bought a Rithimic last year after playing one at a shop and loving it.
I have plenty of other basses... Lakland, Fender Jazzes and some beautiful Yamahas but have a real soft spot for Corts.

share the love, please, cos I've been interested in these for a while, what are the pros vs cons?
The only con I can think of is the weak output, it really is quiet plugged in. Not so much a problem if it's the only bass you're using... I'd set up my rig to suit it on its first gig, swapped over to my BB1024 and almost pinned the crowd to the back wall. 
2 passive basses couldn't be any different on output volume... I should have realised.
Pros... it's a very light bass and the neck is great... no neck dive with the Ultralights
I think the neck feels a lot like my Lakland but it has the J Berlin spec frets which I absolutely love and for me, leaves the 44-01 in the dust.
They're about the same width as jumbos but quite flat and with a low action makes it as quick and effortless as a fretless.
I like Bart Mk1s but I think they need a preamp to get some punch on this bass.
Oh, and I love the look of it. Photos don't show how stunning it is.

I have Bart Mk1's on my B5+ and yes, they are quiet. I have a US P bass which is so damn loud in comparison. I use a Phil Jones combo which luckily has twin channels so I can plug in each to their own EQ settings. I'm looking at a Cort A6 Plus FMMH and wondering what the string spacing at the bridge is? The bass has a Hipshot Transtone Bridge.
I've seen different figures but most seem to be 16mm. Is this correct?

This is my Cort C4 LTD, a limited edition from 2004. It was my first proper bass, and I doubt I will ever sell it. The wenge neck is the best I've played ever, and it's incredibly stable. I had an A5 too, loved the sound, but couldn't stand the tight string-spacing so ended up selling it.
Any experience with the Cort Gb55jj? They are super around 280 new. Incredible price. But I can't find anything on the internet.
Not a member of the club yet, but I think I will be eventually...far as I can tell, Cort is knocking outta the park nowadays...I have serious GAS for the GB75JH in trans black, and I'm pretty tempted by the Artisan series as well...
I have the GB54JJ, the four string version. It's a great bass for the money. I have only one minor complaint - I had to set the action on the D string a little higher than the other strings due to some slight fret buzz at the 5th fret. Overall though I am very happy with the bass.
Got a used Cort Artisan A6.
From the serial number it looks like it was manufactured in 1998.
I just uploaded a demo of the Cort GB55jj. Right now the bass is going back to Thomann. It's not bad but it didn't make me feel home, and the finish was worse than the other Harley Benton bass I ordered. Anyway...there you are!
