I bought a Cort SB10 a couple of years ago. From what I can tell by the serial number, it appears to have been made in 2000. That is about all I can find out on these basses. I was told that they were made for only one year. Can anyone shed any more light on these basses? Thanks in advance for any info that can be provided.

Thanks for the info. That gives a good bit of information that I didn't have. They seem somewhat rare in the wild. Never see one for sale. One will pop up every few years on reverb. Was looking to trade a few weeks ago and was offered $71. Decided to hold on to it and see what else I could find out on them.

there may have been a 5-string model? But the EFVB1 is the 4 string model / probably a typo error

Well, I've been told that Cort serial numbers typically start with the year of manufacture. For my Cort built Laguna and my A4 this checks out ('07 and '20 respectively). Using that formula that would make yours from 1970 which seems suspicious but that's all I can add.

My 4th Cort - and my main bass for a while... the GB-75JH.
I'm going to be replacing the pickups with a set from Lakland (if I can actually figure out the wiring), and down the line, possibly bung in an East preamp.
Gotta say that this is one seriously lovely bass to play though. Not sure if you're handing out membership numbers, but please may I join this group ?

I finally managed to find an A6 Plus in good shape at a reasonable price, so now my Cort family is complete.

Hi, could you, or any other A6 owner reading, please tell me the bridge string spacing one these please? I might have a line on one but I will be unable to try first as it's too far away. It's a newer version with the Hipshot Transtone (HS only have 4 and 5 on their website). Thanks.

Did some research for you and found this: from Cort; "The Artisan A5 Beyond is designed with the specs from Cort’s best-selling A5 Plus SCMS model, including the single-cutaway and multi-scale"
So some specs are: (1) Width at 1st fret= 20.5mm , (2) 12th fret= 22mm ,(3) Last fret ???? That's all got

Thanks so much! I think k I saw that somewhere, but I'm pretty sure that's actually the thickness of the neck. 20.5mm is like .8"

correct the 20.5mm is thickness , Didn't have reading glasses on ! Also very similar to Ibanez SRSC5 and the width at last fret on the Ibanez is 74mm - & has same width at nut , May be same ?

I thought they'd be similar to ibanez, but it definitely looks a bit narrower. Hopefully I'll get confirmation soon!

As a pre-owned of GB74jj, both stock humcancelling pup has really great sounding and stick preamp are absolutely hiss free even treble knob wide open.

I bought a same VTB ST pup and load into my Bacchus jazz bass and she sound better and retain more upper mid voice than Fralin humcancelling jazz pup that I been compare myself.

To me, if mod are necessary on your bass, I will start with string swap ,later preamp swap.

This was the Artisan A6 I used to owned (already the one with the Trans Tone bridge):

The string spacing at bridge measured 16mm.
