hello people, first post on this forum! :)
I have an A5 six months now and I am really satisfied with the sound and playability. I was just replacing my strings when I noticed all the peghead top nuts were loose as if someone had forgotten to tighten them in the factory. the tuning machines were kept in place by the tension of the strings. without the strings the machines can move around a bit as the peg holes are slightly larger than them! is this normal? i wonder if it affects sound. should i tighten the nuts so the machines do not move at all? I mean perhaps there is some reason they left it like that in the factory...

Hello Cort fans! I have an opportunity to join your club. There is a Cort Elrick for available here, but it has a bit of mis-work to it. The bridge was routed deeper and over-routed.

So, I can get it for $350. It has Bartolini's and the usual maple over ash body. Looks nice. What do you think?

I'm assuming it's the elrick sig model? I've heard they were a nice bass, equal weight across the fretboard and body. as long as it's not too much work, that sounds about right for the price. if your gonna need a lot of work, I would try to get him down in price, especially if you have to use body filler at the bridge...
good luck, and get those pics up if you get it!

Hehe, k then :) My babies:

Oh, now it just hit me: since all my Ibanez are made by Cort (Korean/Indonesian), this is actually an all Cort photo, hehe! Hmmm...6/6 :bassist:

Anybody know the street price of a GB35a? I saw a post in this thread near the beginning that said it was about the price of an SX jazz, then again that post is quite old.

Also, can the gb35a get a burpy Musicman-esque tone? (not necessarily the exact sound of a musicman, but the same vibe?)

I think I can now join this club (although I should probably join the Ibby club too :p )

My new acquisition, an FM2:

I looked through guitar stores around Sydney for something I'd like. I didn't even know who T.M. Stephens was, I just liked the way it played and sounded :bassist:

I want one of these pretty badly.

I would have gladly paid over twice as much as I did for this bass. Impeccable craftmanship and it's not the most over the top bass I've ever owned-but it's just really solid. I can truly say it inspires me when I play now.

You can look in the classifieds right now there are 2 of the older JPS5's for sale and they are priced right around the $550 mark. After paying $5k for my last 3 basses I can say these will run with the big boys in my book.
