The GB75 neck measurements are as follows:

Width at nut: 1 3/4"
Width at 22nd fret: 3"

Back of neck to top of fretboard (as best as I can measure): 3/4"

The neck of the GB75 is what I consider a flattened "C" shape. In the neck profile image below (although really for gui***) it appears most like the "D" shape, only thinner back-to-front. A comfortable neck to play on, just a bit wider (side-to-side) feeling than a lot of uber-skinny necks that I've played before. But then, I find more space is better for slap technique for sure.

FWIW, my A5 has the same 1 3/4" nut measurement, but only widens out to 2 5/8th" at the 24th fret. So, both necks start the same width at the nut, but the GB75's neck spreads out roughly 1/4" more by the time it reaches the 22nd fret.

Thats great :) Thanks alot for doing that

I have a cort...... And i HATE it. it's a C4FL with mighty mite pickups. it plays pretty well. but it sounds terrible. It has no fretless growl. 0 zip none. the preamp is also useless. itd be too much of a waste i think to completely overhaul the electronics right now so it just sits

Have had a good setup done? If you are getting no fretless growl, it's quite likely that your action is to high, whether because of the bridge height or the neck relief, or both. The fretless "mwah" growl is dependent on a slight scrubbing of the string against the fingerboard just ahead of your fretting finger, and a too-high action prevents this. (Too low, of course, will choke it completely.)

This is also how the bridge on a sitar works.

I got to check out Stingray69's GB75, and that bass is the real deal! I owned a 55-02, and there is not enough difference between a GB5 and a 55-02 to matter, IMO. I cannot imagine a better bass for $600 or so unless it was hot!

Hi Cheese,

Just got back from a gig with the GB75 - wanted to say thanks again for earlier today at the STL GTG. I'm glad you dig the GB75, you sure make it sound a lot better than I do. :)
As I was telling you at the GTG, I was expecting something good when I got the GB75 a couple of weeks ago, but this thing just blew me away completely since the moment I plugged it in. I've not had experience with the Skyline series, but your opinion may have cured some serious GAS regarding them. Well, except maybe for a DJ5. :bassist:

I have owned 3 Cort basses and each of them was worth far more than I paid for them. At the moment I have a 4 string Curbow, which I love, but I am saving up for an A4, which I believe are by far the best "quality for price" instrument available in my area.

+1!!
you can't go wrong with the A or B series. versitale to a fault

more and more it seems Cort's are finally getting some deserved kudos. If they keep up with the market (GB74-75), I think they will continue to make a dent....
