I remember playing one of those at AAA Swing City Music in Collinsville, IL back in the day. Lots of smoked plastic on it, but it was certainly different. Played it through a "ROAD" Bass amp.

'98 Cote Continuum. This is a 'factory' bass with custom options. Apparently Fender got their panties in a wad over the headstock similarities and Cote changed the shape shortly after this bass was done.

Rules:

1) Must have at one point been a factory model that was mass produced (no customs- we already have tons of threads for those).

2) The model must not be in production right now. Doesn't count if they have moved factories/countries/changed colors but are still making the bass.

3) No trying to bend the rules with the year of your bass. Yeah we know they aren't making your '68 Precision anymore- but they are still making Precisions.

Last time I checked Charvel wasnt making basses so forgive me if Im wrong...






Its a Charvel 2B. Picked it up off Ebay in December for Christmas for a STEAL!!!! Got it and it was in PRISTINE condition! These photos are pretty recent but not recent enough to show the new SD Basslines Quarter Pounder in the bridge position now.. I got alot of mods planned for that thing even though its amazing stock... but if its amazing stock usually that means its better modded...

G&L Lynx. If ever there was a "Leo Era" bass this is it. Introduced in 1984, dropped from the next catalog after his death in 1991. This one's a May 1986 with rosewood veneer fretboard. Sounds like a J-bass with a shot of testosterone.

I had a cream-colored G&L that looked just like that, but the headstock said ( I believe) SB-2. It was a great sounding bass!
