anyone know how good the quality is on an Aria Pro II ZZB? How does it compare to the epiphone Explorer bass?

I am shocked and stunned that, eighteen pages into this thread, nobody has posted a Dean Metalman Z. I don't have one, but only because the guy from whom I was going to buy one on craigslist flaked at the last minute and decided to give it to his cousin, or something like that.

I remember picking one up at GC and being amazed at how nice the neck felt, on such an inexpensive instrument. I've always had a weakness for certain pointy body styles, and almost bought one, and I may yet someday. I actually prefer the original one-pickup model---I can live without skull knobs and active electronics. Those things are such a bargain, and GC certainly sold all of them they got in, I can't believe that nobody in TB-land has popped up with one.

Pretty much, got the pickups in the same place as the Sadowsky Modern 24-5, which is a trippin' slap machine.

In fact, was I to hazard a guess, I would say it was designed for slap, and modern hi-fi, even Alembic-ish sounds.
