Might be as per the Ampeg SVT810 specs, says 165lbs but cab is 120 abouts. 165 lbs is shipping weight afaik.

Same with the 610 - they say under 90lbs on their website and the cab comes with a big card sayong 77lbs.

At the moment i am unsure if i should buy a 410 oder a 610 neo cab! Does somebody know if theres a sound difference?
Or does the 610 does just have more volume?

I personally haven't had a chance to hear a 610 or 810. Hell, the 410 was the first cab in my 46 year bass history that I bought sound-unheard. Seemed risky since there isn't hardly even any reviews on them, but I wanted it to sound good since it looked so damned good with the head, and it didn't let me down. If I was to guess I would think the 610 would mostly just be louder than the 410, but you never know with cabs. Did you get a chance to actually a/b/c them Tim?

Oh, nothing wrong with sounding like Lemmy, as long as I can also not sound like Lemmy when needed.
Yeah i play rock music and i play on average twice a month in a church. At the moment i play the 100t with a markbass 104hf my old 410 cab i played for 2 years.
I'm not completly unhappy with my actual cab but i guess the fender cab is a better fit for the 100t and they just look awsome together!
The 410 is the reasonable choice because it has enough power for my need and is very moble (i have to move the cab often and even now everybody complains how big my gear is!)
But despite of all the facts i'd realy like to play a 610 ...

If it's any comfort, Rod, I have yet to find any of the new Fender amps and cabs in this tiny lil' burg of Chicago.$1400 in the U.S. = about $2500 here in Aus-in store. Online sellers would have it at MAYBE $2000.
I think I'd go for the SVT810 which you can get for $1500 new "if" I was thinking of getting an 810.
As I've said, NO stores in my city have ANY of this new Fender gear.

The closest Guitar Center (and the only one within city limits, although we have a half dozen more in the suburbs) doesn't have the gear yet, and I'm not sure they will. And Bass Club Chicago (a very fine store that sells some higher-end Fender basses) has no plans to carry it.
I may try to cover my GB 410 with the matching Fender grill cloth. Does anyone know where I can find that?
I was not able to compare the 610 with the 410, only heard the 610 and 810 side by side and decided the 610 would be more than enough for me in any venue where I was using the 100T. Like some others the looks persuaded me to return for the Fender cab, and I still say it is the sexiest amp/cab I have owned - although if I had the silver grilled anniversary ampeg 810 to go with my SVT VR it would be a close thing. But there is something special about that vintage Fender look.
I originally wanted the 115 neo but they could not get one, then considered a 410 but.....they could not get one....... so the choice was made easier. That said, I am glad I got the 610 - easiest to move of any cab I have owned as it is so light for its size and easy to tilt in and out of the van, handles underneath and a skid bar too. The 410 is just as appealing for looks but I suspect if I bought one I would be hankering after another to stack on top - which of course would give more options for sure. I was told by the importer who is very much in the Fender loop that Fender want to market the 100T with the 610 and the 300 with the 810.

How does the 410 volume compare to the Hartke? I want one of these cabs, they look killer!
Can one of you guys with the new 610 ( or even a 410) pop your grill off and take some pictures for me? I like to see how the grill frame is built, what attachment it has on it and on the cabinet face. Id like to build a fabric grill for my pros (same cab design). I know how ampeg does it with grill fronts, but not fender.

Look back a few posts and you'll see where I did some measurements. I got a little upset when I found the Fender is 2dB less efficient than the Harke 410XL. I was sure they would have gotten these over 101dB sensitivity to help out the new 100 watt head, but I believe the Fender neo's are around 96dB spl @ 1w/1m. The cab came in last week so I've only been practicing with until last night when the new band rehearsed. Absolutely loved the sound of the cab, but I'm still concerned about it's efficiency matched with the 100T in a live situation. The new band's first gig is next Friday the 18th, so I'm anxious to hear it in action. I've never played through a rig this small, so this is going to be interesting. Hell, in 1969 when I waS 16 I had 6x15's. Then through various combinations of big Sunn rigs to a pair of Harke 410XL's with a GK 800RB. The new band is a typical classic rock cover kinda thing, guitar player has a '72 100 watt Twin, and we're all seasoned players so we don't play screaming loud. But we've got an excellent drummer and he thumps it, and I've always been an aggressive out front kind of bassist, so again this is going to be interesting. Of course I'd love to have an excuse to get a second 410, as stacked 410's are my favorite look, but at this point I really want this smaller rig to do all I need when I don't have mains help, as I don't want to lug that much gear around anymore.

I sure am getting a lot of tubes, 5 12AX7's, 2 12AT7's, 6 EL34's & 4 6L6's. 330 watts of tubes!

That looks pretty! I don't think the 100T has been around long enough for anyone to even get the tubes it comes with burned in, much less trying different tubes. You gotta give 'em a chance to settle down before they arrive at their sound.

I have always liked TAD's, JJ's are always nice too. The Electro-Harmonix are great for hard crunch..

Yes I have never been a fan of GTs myself, due to an unfortunate experience many years ago, and to be honest haven't given a thought to tube rolling the 100T. I agree with Freight Train that you need to let them settle in and I am certainly very happy with the sound as it is so can't see myself swapping out in the near future (but very interested to hear someone else's results). Also, Fender are almost encouraging tube experimentation with the auto-bias feature.

I am keen to hear your impression of the 410 in a live situation in view of your sensitivity measurements. While the numbers don't lie it is your impression in a practical situation that most intrigues me.

Well seeing that I got $150 off on the amp and have seen (heard) what good tubes can do the the sound of a amp. I just ordered two matched sets of TAD 6L6GC-STR's, a JJ ECC81, and a matched set of JJ ECC83-S / 12AX7's.
It sounds nice now but this should bring out all the tubey goodness in this great amp.

I have ALWAYS immediately switched Groove Tubes out of any amp Ive ever had them in... I normally hate them, but they sound great in this amp for some reason!

That's good to know Tim. I'm interested in what everyone is getting with the head, butI I know some will never take it off the active channel with blend no less than 5, and that doesn't really apply to me except maybe on a couple of songs. This may be my last go, and I'm going totally retro, down to trying to find a type 1 Telecaster, which a 1969 version I bought new when I was 16, and was stolen around 1978. I'm stringing that baby with flats and I'll be in heaven with this rig. Just hope I'm not forced to add a second 410.
