The Fender Bassman 100T thread

Front ported she is. Did a little exploring feeling through the ports. There's about 2" or so of damping material on the back, none on the top and bottom, can't feel the sides, so it's pretty wide opened inside, if that makes any difference to anyone.
My grill was really tight - I was having such a hard time with it, that's why I was doubting it was velcro at first. Surprised they didn't put a pull tab on the 410 if there's one on the 115.

Hi Chris, sorry I didn't push for specifics but got the impression it was within th enext 4 - 6 weeks. You going to trade in for the 100T and 610 cab? It is a great rig, but if you are concerned about the physical size of the 810 it sounds like the 410 might be a good cab for you judging by the comments. That said, I think the 610 is a perfect match for the 100T as it moves a bit more air than a 410 would which might come in handy - sometimes 100 watts need a little help and that bit of extra air can make the difference.

hi tim , i spoke to the bass shop up here and he thought end of this month, anyway im into clean so im more into the sb300 now that ive spent more time with it, as i know i can just keep going up and not run out of clean. still thinking of shrinking the 810 to the 610 as i think the 610 will handle the sb300 at around half volume , [do you?] will try and confirm that in the shop.

Chris, I think the 610 would handle the SB300 at full volume to be honest. It seems that there are a few people around already using that combination and very happy with it. Having played both I am more than happy with the 610, especially with its slightly smaller size. Actually, I read on another thread about someone using a neo 410 comfortably with the SB300, which you may want to consider if they bring a 410 out here. For me, I like the 610 with the 100T as it moves a little more air than a 410 which is a plus with the one hundred watter. I've got to say again that the 100T has a surprising amount of clean headroom in it for 100 watts, you might want to try one when you have the opportunity.

well,

after reading this whole thread :help: i went down to my local brick & mortar music store ( bananas ) & played a 100T thru the 15neo, sounded very good

Alan ( owner ) hooked me up with a deal on the head ( which i bought ) but couldn't decide on a cab, as they only had the 15neo & an 810neo ( i live upstairs so a 610/810 is out )

he's getting a 410neo in asap that i'll pull the trigger on when it gets here & will probably add another 410neo for outdoor/large rooms

haven't brought it home yet as i was riding my XR650R, but will go pick it up in the morning

i have a rehearsal tomorrow,, this should be fun :hyper::hyper::hyper:

went to bananas & played the 100T thru a variety of cabs that they had there starting with the 15neo which does indeed sound very good, then went thru the 810neo just to get a flavor of fender's 10"neo's, sounded amazing. also was pleased with the hartke hydrives both the 15" & their 410

actually ended up picking the 15neo & will add another 15neo next week as soon as they ship it up. and,, will purchase the 410neo in a couple of months for a different flavor

just want to add that i didn't make this purchase cause i just wanted to jump on the bandwagon so to speak,, i've been playing hybrid heads for a long time, & have been playing my latest gig rig for a couple of years, which consists of a genz 9.0 with a vt bass pedal & a catlinbread sft for some overdrive which sounds very good. but have always wanted a tube head but didn't want to lug around a boat anchor, i ABSOLUTELY LOVE the 300pro but could never get myself to pull the trigger

this 100T is mine :hyper::hyper::hyper:

have a rehearsal in a couple of hours & i'm gonna pair the 100T with a 215 cab that's there

Another convert! You won't regret it. Reading this reminds me that I must try gigging mine through my Bergantino 215. At the moment I am enjoying the 610 neo so much that I haven't been tempted to try a different speaker. Those neo cabs really are a huge step in front of the pack for Fender.

Hey guys. Was wondering if i decided to upgrade tubes on my 100t (Leaning towards jj's in the preamp and some NOS phillips in the power) there will be no need to have a tech rebias anything right? just follow directions in the manual correct? i just want to make sure with someone who would no better then me i dont want anything to happen to my pride and joy:) The groove tubes in mine are the lowest rated they sell (#1's Blue). Any suggestions on tubes YOU swear by? Thanks!! Im soooo in love BTW.

I'm sorry, but I'm totally done with JJ's unless I am absolutely desperate. I've never had a single JJ that lasted longer than a year of moderate use, and I just put in a new set of JJ's 6L6GC's in my Super Reverb a month ago, used it twice, and they're already microphonic.

just got in from rehearsal, took two four bangers, one a P loaded with a Bill Lawrence P-46 & the other a Peavey loaded with Nordy Fatstacks / Sadowsky pre / vintage tone control, both running flats

plugged in the 100T to an SVT215e & just wanked for awhile, turning knobs & just getting a feel for the different flavors

this band is playing alot of hard rock so i went straight for the overdrive channel, did a few tweaks here & there but came up with some seriously punchy, very loud, very musical cutting tone

this head was slamming the 215e cab, hope the dual 215neos sound that good after they open up

sounds great with the P bass, but sounds INCREDIBLE with the Fat Stacks, have another rehearsal next week & will take the Epi Allen Woody along as well

Fifteens, flats and tubes - great combination!

totally agree :bassist:

was playing fingerstyle thru most of the rehearsal but i used a pick for a couple of songs & the tone just floored me, very quick sharp snappy tite notes inside a fully rounded overdriven true tube tone all at the same time, have never heard anything quite like it

me likey :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Fifteens, flats and tubes - great combination!

that's how i've rolled my entire bass playing life, no other way to go for me! a guy asked me yesterday about my 27 year old reissue P and i told him that the flats (labella 760's) are only the third set of strings the bass has ever had on it. he smiled knowingly.....
