Turlu, have you considered adding a second 410 rather than a 115? That way you would have an 810 for those really big gigs and would not have to risk blowing the 115. That 410 must be something really special to handle the 300 watts of the Super Bassman easily. I love my 610 but I did get it in part to move a little extra air to compensate for the 100 watts of the 100T.

Yes, I considered adding another 410 and this is what I will most likely do at the end. The 115 would be a good match ad well, however the extra 410 will push a lot of air and the head will handle that with ease! Thanks for the suggestion!

I hope I have the excuse to add a 2nd 410neo later. It's possible with some opportunities on the horizon, but for the standard bar/party gigs I'm doing now, I've had mains help on any gigs larger than the 100T/410neo can handle, and so far that rig has been plenty loud enough for stage volume at the biggest gigs I've played even without bass in monitors.
I have been reading this thread and actually did a search to see if anyone had paired this head with either a Markbass Traveler 102P or an Avatar B212 Neo cab. I am close to pulling the trigger on this but do not have funds for any of the matching Fender neo cabs. Which one of these has anyone used or do you have an opinion on which one would sound better- both? neither? Thanks in advance for the feedback !
I had an Aguilar GS212 first with the head. Great Tone I got, however I much prefer the Fender Neo Cab....Also, what a retro look it tives with the matching Cab !!!
Yes, I never thought I would be corrupted by it but the sheer bling factor of the new Fender rigs is huge. When you combine it with the tone and options buying one is a nobrainer IMO.

My Celinder VP4 is active, and man, did it sound good with the Super Bassman 300 and 610. My guess is that the 100T would do equally well with active basses.
Some may have missed the fact that the 100T and Super Bassman are set up to be used with real, professional rack-mount signal processors. The preamp output and power amp inputs are balanced TRS 1/4" connectors and operate at the proper +4dBm level for professional eq's, compressors, delays or whatever. Most all pro processors have XLR I/O's, so you would need to build cables as shown here to get a balanced signal to and from the processor(s). So you're connecting 'Preamp Output' to your processor's input, processor output to 'Pwr Amp Input'. The 'Preamp Output' jack comes after the master volume control, so get your preamp gains and volumes set first, then use the master volume to adjust the level going to the signal processor. You would then use the output level control on the signal processor as your master volume control. If you're chaining 2 or more processors together, the output volume control on the last processor in the chain will be your master.
Besides just adding studio-quality eq, compression and delay fx, if you're into getting a variety of overdrive and distortion colors, adding a studio-quality tube eq and/or compressor to this loop will do marvelous things. You can overdrive the input stage and saturate the input transformer of the tube processor by pushing it hard with the Bassman's master volume control, which will be a totally different distortion sound than the overdrive built into the Bassman itself.

So the preamp tubes i mentioned earlier in the thread have been installed and sound crystal clear amazing!! Not that it sounded bad before i just wanted to try some NOS in my baby. GE 12AX7A/7025 and a national 12Ax7A(telefunken). Made were they hard to put in!!! i was so nervous i was sweating like crazy with the air on 72!! i was my first swap in my first tube amp. But they sound awesome, i recorded some with the GT's and some with the NOS's and I way prefer the clarity of the NOS. Anyways i also just purchased SED 6L6GC's from amplifiedparts.com and i said i was searching for a tube retailer and they gave me 10% off for my initial purchase. not bad. $135 for a matched burned in quad. i now they dont have to be matches or burned in but what the hell it wont hurt. I did nothing but look at and read about tubes for the last 3 weeks. My fiance thinks im weird...lol....anyways and in new production these seem to be the best with the most clean headroom which is what i was really aiming for. i really wanted to pull the trigger on NOS phillips 7581a's (35watts super 6l6's) but ruby would have killed me for the price there going for but i will own a quad in the future. HAS ANYBODY SWAPPED POWER TUBES YET (OR ANY TUBES) AND WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH TONE/HEADROOM/THE AUTOBIAS? ALSO THE COOL/NORM/HOT SELECTIONS ON THE 100T IS THE SAMETHING AS BIASING AN AMP THE WAY U WANT RIGHT? LIKE 70% IDLE OR 50%. ALSO IS YOUR SPEAKER CAB REALLY 50% OF YOUR SOUND? SHE GIVE ME LOVE LOVE LOVE CRAZY LOVE. THANK YOU FENDER!!!!
Yeah, that lets you under or over bias the tubes. cooler for fatter but slower, hot for faster and more aggressive but more distortion. And as the manual says the hotter settings will wear the tubes faster.
What was difficult about changing the tubes? I haven't tried yet, but I know I'll eventually do it. Can you post a before and after sound clip?
Looking around online I'd seen 30 and 35 watt 6L6's or equivalents. So there's no problem using these in an amp like the100T?
The speaker question is difficult. Off the top of my head I'd say the speaker is at least 50% of your sound. It depends on what you're going for and how you're going about it, and IMO the speakers are more than 50% of your sound in some cases.
Yea im pretty sure u can use 35watt 6L6/7581's in the 100t but i would def call/email fender or talk to someone who has lots of experience. all the specs are the same except the wattage(plate voltage and screen rating are the same) so really u get the most clean headroom with those extra watts. this is just from me reading online about it the last few weeks so i might not have the full understanding of it. As for posting sound clips i recorded at my friends house and i would have no idea how to post them but ill ask my bud for help. he may know. Oh and swapping the tubes......so taking out was pretty easy but installing was difficult first off because the power tubes are in the way. i didnt want to take them out because i dont want to mess with them unless im swapping so i just worked around them. so lining up the pins is difficult cause u cant see but i used a telescoping mirror and a flashlight and that helped. so its hard to determine when the pins are lined up and when u should start pushin. if there not lined up and u start to muscle it i guess u could bend or break pins on the tube. but really F**k the tube i didnt want to damage the amp!! but in the end i took my time and pushed when i was 100% it was lined up and with a lil finesse got them fully seated. also i was usin soo much pressure i was nervous for the envelope. My SED's will be here monday!!
Oh yea freighttrain ..hdracer said in another thread that he put Tube Amp Doctor 6L6GC's in and he is pleased with the results. Also where did u see the 35watt 6L6's? As far as i know the only 35 watter is the nos phillips 7581a which was made for the millitary. Tung-sol has a 7581(6L6GC) new production but that is 30 watts. In the description it says its an upgraded 6L6GC which provides more headroom. AND YOU BASS GUYS DROOLIN OVER THIS THREAD MUSICIANS FRIEND HAS ONE USED FOR 1260 IN MINT CONDITION. PULL THE TRIGGER!!!
No, I meant the Phillips 7581a's in place of the 6L6, not an actual 35 watt 6L6. You're right, there should be negligible difference in volume between 100 watts and 140 watts, but the extra wattage would help the headroom, so the power tubes wouldn't distort so quickly. I've gotta be careful on this, because one reason I got into a low wattage tube amp is I want the grunty grind of the power tube distortion, as opposed to the buzzy sound of preamp overdrive. The 100T is doing exactly what I've been wanting at exactly the volume I'm wanting it to do it at. So I don't want to screw around and suddenly not be able to get the grind I want without being too loud. I found it interesting what Tim1 and the guys were finding about the stock tubes having different ratings from head to head. I need to look into mine and see what's there, and if it's a high number now maybe going to the 7581a's wouldn't hurt.
Which begs the question, why am I even thinking about this if I like it the way it is. I don't know I just can't levee things alone I guess.
Yep I am with you on that one, Freight Train. I am very much of the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" category. I am perfectly happy with my 100T exactly as it is and there is nothing that I would currently change about it. That said, I am watching this development with interest so when eventually a tube goes I will have a better idea what is best to replace it. I would be interested to know what rating your tubes are though - let us know when you have had a look.
