I don't normally use the tuner out on an amp, preferring to go through a pedal in line to the amp. Last night I thought I would try the tuner out plug on my 100T and was surprised that it does not work when in standby - I cannot mute the amp to tune without turniung the volume down and losing that right spot on the volume control for the gig. Guess I am back to the in line pedal - am I wrong or does anyone else find this annoying? I assume it is the same with the tuner out on other brands too? Just does not seem much point to me. Haven't tried it with the amp's DI connected, I suppose the same applies.
I jumped on that tuner out right away. I personally don't like ANYTHING in line between my bass and the amp. IMO and IME, passing through anything when the signal is at such a low level and so sensitive to any added impedance, capacitance or inductance is asking for trouble, and results in a tone suck. That's why I still consider pedals to be toys.
