Juat talked to the guy at the store.
Fender is making a run of 115 Neos at the end of September. He said two weeks after that I should get mine.
If they are going up in price like that ($100 out of a $600 purchase) I think I'll just get my second one now instead of later and get them while the getting is good!
I can push off my bass upgrade for a while, I hear they still have lots of wood.

Wow FenderLove - that's some amazing stuff you have there. I'm glad to hear the 115neo is a winner. That was the only cab I was unsure of since there was some negative feedback on it a few months ago from someone on another thread.
I'm still loving this amp (100T with the 410neo cab)
A few questions though to other Fender Bassman 100T users.......
1) What rating Valves did you guys get with yours???
Mine came with GT valves and a rating of 2. You can see this by looking through the grill at the front, maybe with a torch, it's written in pen.
I was surprised by this as i thought bass amps would have a higher GT number for more cleanness, like 8 or something?!
2) Has anyone noticed that after or sometime during a gig some of the green Auto Bias lights flash then stay on etc? Is this just them auto biasing?
3) I used my amp once on the 25W mode, by the end of the gig the speaker has a buzzing coming from the horn i think and the Tube protect indicator light was red on the back panel???? it soon went off when I switched back to 100W Mode and has'nt made that noise since. Any ideas?

I've been using my 115neo for about 6 weeks now and it truely is a winner! I think it is time to rid myself of my MB210 combo and buy a 100T and another 115!
Loveboatcaptain, there has already been some discussion on the rating of the power tubes. Mine came with 5s but others have reported from 1 to 4. Personally I wouldn't worried about it - if it sounds great don't fix it - although logic would tend to favor an 8 to 10. That said, I had the opportunity to get a cheap matched quartet of Winged C 6L6s which I have swapped in together with JJ preamp tubes. As I reported, I would have been happy to stick with the Groove Tubes and would not bother if I had to pay full price but having done a gig with it there is a benefit from the swap. Tighter bass and a bit more clean headroom with a very nice compression although a slight loss at the very top I think.
That 115 neo cab is tempting me again, but I don't think Fender are exporting any outside the States yet. It would be nice to have just one in case I wanted to leave the 610 at home.

Hmm interesting to hear that no one rates groove tubes. Considering they aren't the cheapest.

I don't think Groove Tubes have been popular for a while, something seems to have happened since they first appeared on the scene and were highly rated. However I am no authority on tubes so can only go on what I have read - somebody on this thread suggested that they were lower rated JJ discards IIRC??? It would certainly make sense that Fender use them if they indeed either own or have shares in the company as someone else suggested. I had no problems at all with the GTs in my 100T and was exceedingly happy with its performance, but I do think it has lifted a notch with the Winged Cs and JJs. Just IMO of course.
I haven't seen any of the the lights flash on mine once it's out of standby, but I haven't been looking during gigs either.
That's interesting about the 25W mode thing. I've only used mine in 25W at rehearsal, and was thinking about trying it for a set at our gig tomorrow night. I wonder if it's overheating? Fender only talks about the 25W mode for studio use, which I read to mean at lower volumes, not for getting extra grind playing it loud at gigs. I wonder if it's stressing it to play it loud in that mode?
You guys who said you've used it in 25W mode for gigs - was that 3 or 4 hour gigs, or a one set thing? Did you notice it getting hotter than usual, or any other problems?

They got a lot of bad PR due to their owner's extravagant claims and dubious marketing information over a few years, for selling essentially rebranded Chinese tubes at high prices. When there were'nt many other players on the market specializing in tubes they got a lot of traction, but have been overshadowed recently by increased tube availability and more honest and transparent sellers, IMO.
Nothing to do with silent mode. On several original Fender promos the phrase "quieter 25 watt mode, ideal for studio" was used. Now on their main 100T page it just says "Quieter 25-watt power". Well, I'm just going to crank 'er up at 25 watts at the gig tonight and see what's up. This is one of the things that intrigued me about the amp originally; if it can deliver a different grind from the power tubes at 25 watts rather than the buzzier channel overdrive. I'm guessing it's gonna be sweet.
I saw that one and didn't understand it. The 1-15 cabs sound as good as the 6-10 cab I have. The tone is tight, clear, very resonent, and reproduces the full spectrum as you'd expect from a high-quality piece of gear. Having the high-frequency drivers really makes a BIG difference. I have mine set at 11:00, whereas on my Ampeg 6-10 cab, it's turned all the way up. This isn't a slam on Ampeg, just stating the facts.
The thing people need to know is this. They have paly the cab for awhile in order to break-in the speakers.
The nonsence I read about the grill cloth in that one post was just that - nonsence.
These cabs are sold, light , and they deliver.
The only thing that needs proving is thier reliability. Time will show how they perform in the long term. The same goes for the the heads. I'm not worried. Fender has a long history of proven performance. I'm confident. If I weren't, I would've purchased Ampeg again. I passed on the Heritage because the Fender heads offer so much more.
I predict that Ampeg will eventually offer a self-biasing head, as well as some of the other features the 100T and Super Bassman have.
The bottom line is Fender delivered. That's why I spent my $$ on thier equiptment.
I saw some posts regarding flashing lights - self biasing feature. Here's what I've noticed on my 100T and Super Bassman 300.
100T
I turn the power switch on and wait 2-3 minutes before turning on the stand-by switch.
Before flipping on the stand-by switch this is what I see.
The four green indicator lights move from left to right one at a time. When I flip the stand-by switch on the lights will blink. The combination may/will be different. Sometimes two of the four will blink while the other two remain on. Other times, only one will blink while the other three remain on. Sometimes two will blink, stay on, while the other two begin blinking, and then stay on. The cycle lasts for a max of 10 seconds. Occasionally, while playing, the lights will blink. The combination differs. They will blink for about 10 seconds tops. I've never seen orange or red lights.
300 Super Bassman
I turn the power switch on and wait 2-3 minutes before turning on the stand-by switch.
Before flipping on the stand-by switch this is what I see.
The six green indicator lights move from left to right one at a time. When I flip the stand-by switch on all six lights will blink at the same time. he cycle lasts for a max of 20 seconds. I've never seen orange or red light.
So yes, they seem to be a bit different.

15% is usually the best you can get from them (unless on blowout) but once in a while you can get 20% and that once in a while appears to be this weekend. You just have to know to ask for it or else they won't volunteer the info.
My 100T follows the exact same pattern as FenderLove describes - just had a look. I must say that I have made a point of not looking at the lights as I don't want to obsess about them - sounds a bit like putting my head in the sand I suppose but I have never worried about bias on other tube amps I have owned. On my SVT VR which is user biasable but not autobias I checked it once a year. If I start to hear something wrong then I will have a look at the lights. The autobias feature is great for keeping the bias optimum or tube rolling, but I refuse to use it as something I should regularly check. I probably would not have put in the Winged Cs without it as it made the swap so easy - in the first turn on after the change I did watch the lights and it took a while longer for them to stop flashing (as you might expect with a different set of power tubes), after that everything was back to normal. Plug and play, forget about the lights unless you hear a problem.... and enjoy

Really? I called today and ordered a TH500. I told the salesperson about the 20% discount and he said he'd check, then came back on and said "ok". I didn't ask for the email to be sent to me or have them look up if one was sent to me. I just said that "a friend" had received one in an email and that I would like to have the same deal. I guess it depends on who you get on the line.
