The only times a one time turn on sequence that could hurt an amp is if there's a particularly nasty inrush power surge (usually not likely) or if you bring the amp in from where it's been sitting in a very cold car (below freezing) into a warm club and just plugged it in and turned it on, especially if you turn on the standby at the same time. That's definitely not recommended. Although we used to do it all the time in the 70s.

But if the amp is warm and the power goes on and off, you'd have to do it hundreds of times to have any noticeable problems and even then, it's just going to be accelerated tube wear.

I just placed my order today and should have a Super Bassman in my possession next week. My main rig is a Mesa Walkabout into a Bergantino HD212, which has worked great for most everything I do. I also have an NV412 that I kind of mothballed since getting the HD212 as I prefer the Walkabout tone through a ported cabinet. I always wanted to eventually get a tube head for the NV and am glad I've held onto it. Was goofing around in GC the other day and tried the 100T into a NEO 610 - I was floored. Then (at Tim1's prompting and with reading through this entire thread) I went ahead with the Super. Like I said, the Mesa\HD combination has been my awesome go-to rig, but with my old school country band, I was missing the tone the Bassman puts out.

Really excited about playing it through the NV cab. Will then decide whether to keep it or go with one of the Fender NEO cabs. I'm thinking maybe 2 of the 115 NEOs - a bit more modular for fitting in the trunk of my car, ported and matching the Super too. But we'll see - tone will rule the day.

Very excited - I was considering the SB when I got the Walkabout. Will be nice to have both. :bassist:

Has anyone compared SB300 into Berg NV115 (x2) vs Aguilar DB112 (x2) ?

I'm thinking of building a whole new rig for all the rock/folk music I play. I played the 100T trough a DB210 in a rehearsal once and it sounded absolutely wonderful.

At the moment I play a Monique/Minnie into Thunderchild115 which is definitely not the cab for rock music.

I think I'll have to get the new cabs first, since Monique will most probably sound fantastic with either one of those, but that Fender sound is quite hard to forget, damn!

Oh man. So jealous. I've been gassing really hard for that exact setup.

Don't get me wrong, I love my GK rig, but I would love to have that sitting next to it.

I had to drive 4 hours into the heart of NYC to pick it up but man it was worth every hour down and back. Here is who I bought the amp from, and being played through by Catherine Popper. Quite the adventure when I found out who was selling it. LOL
