The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

Thanks guys, I'll look through the early stuff. I also emailed Fender so hopefully they get back to me soon. Something I wanted to add is that the XLR out sounds fine wether it's in pre or post mode, which I thought was weird.

Used my SB300 with a 212 Mark Bass cab Sunday night. @Rocksolid this MAY help you with the cab question you asked.
I THINK it was the "club 121" Mark Bass cab. ... or something to that name.
Sounded great. Mark Bass cabs never REALLY impress me much by themselves, but they almost ALWAYS impress me in the band mix. This 212 was no different. Handled the Super Bassman at 8 on Channel 1 volume and 7 on the Master vol. So it was pumping with a touch of power tube drive happening when I dug in.
I was using my G&L ASAT which has a high output.
Nothing but goodness outta amp and cab.
I still like my Berg AE410 or Fender neo 115s better tho :thumbsup:

Just to be clear - I think that is USA only. For example - I got the one second hand, I contacted the shop it was originally purchased from, they consulted Fender Australia, and they flat out said it is not transferable. I explained what I had read here on TB and they said not here in Australia.

Sadly this is true, Rocksolid. I am in New Zealand and have owned a multitude of Fender products over the years, and the same applies here. We get the standard NZ one year consumer warranty and that is it. It has annoyed me for a long time that Fender's five year warranties do not apply overseas, I see no logical reason for it as surely the cost to them here should not be too much different as in America. To be fair on Fender the same applies to just about every other company too. It seems to be up to the importer/wholesaler as to whether or not they apply the five year deal and I suppose it makes financial sense for them to keep to the minimum, but surely Fender could insist that the USA warranty conditions apply worldwide.

Yep got mine just before yours, Rod, it was one of the first off the rack and to date there has been not a single issue. Spent my money on new basses pretty much since then, although sidetracked back to my acting career a little bit at the moment. Got to say still loving the neo 810 cab too.

I wonder if Fender USA are aware of the status quo with warranty down here. You would assume yes.

Just picked up a Sub gig Jan 22nd. Waiting for confirmation of the venue - but hoping I can give the 610 Neo it's maiden voyage.

Picked up a 610 Neo cover on line (purchased it while I was in Napier) and it arrived yesterday. $40 + postage. Was pretty happy with that!
