Sign me up - 5 string, passive, and fretless!

Bought an inexpensive Peavey Millennium BXP Fiver, last week w/ 17mm spacing. Lowered the action on the 'new' GHS Flatwounds.
The previous owner did a nice defet on this bass!

I don't know about BO's, but Warwick Thumbs NT fretless just sound amazing.

I played the BO at a shop once and loved the sound, just couldn't pitch the price tag; used is certainly the way to go!

Can I have a number? This Patrick Eggle Milan that I had defretted by Martin Petersen has been my main player for a few years now. It has active EMG's but passive VVT controls - these are about to be replaced by a ACG EQ02 when I've worked out when I'll ever find time to enlarge the control cavity to take the preamp.

the first one : custom 1971 PB (barto bridge PU and ebony finger board), I have been playing it since 1975

the second one : 1991 WW NT : definitively the best one, even if it is very heavy, I love its sound

a rather weird bass i guess
i took some cheap wood from the hardwarestore, i think is was either spruce or pine plywood, cut it right, chambered it and painted the whole thing orange. then, i had an old neck lying around my room. i pulled out the frets, painted the fretboard dark red, as well as all of the hardware, and sealed it with hardwood floor finish. the back of a cupboard is now the pickguard and a guitar humbucker took its place by the neck. some chromes to complete the mellow sound.
